I am having a problem where it freezes on the LG screen when the phone is off and plugged in to charge. Everything works fine when I pull the battery and restart. I think it is related to the wringer my phone has been through, including bricking after I installed VCRom 007. I cleared the cache, dalvik-cache, etc, but that hasn't fixed it yet. Any thoughts? Is it related to a corrupt battery cache or something like that?
Yeah, I had to flash the VC cab in order to root the other day. Then I bricked it with VCRom 007, and unbricked using the kp500 tool. I think somewhere in all that it got slightly messed up. But I am loath to goof around too much with it because it was kind of scary to have a brick, had never happened to me before.Hmm that's not ROM related but maybe a fresh cab write could fix that. Have you flashed a cab on the phone recently?

Cool, good to know - Thanks Nick
Do I need to extract them and then repack it into the apk and ROM?

Any chance of getting some of the themes modded for stock VC update,
the only real issue I can see is the sprint logo, and clock text color
in the notification bar, and drop down they need to be changed to white from black in some of the themes.
thank you

What theme are you using?
What speed is your stock config set to run at? 600/245 or 748/245, or ?
For those wanting to adjust the build.props I noticed that starting terminal you will be prompted with $...this means you are not running as super user. So you need to run that first and that will change the prompt then kick off the tweaks. So open terminal
type "su" ($ will change to #)
type "sh /system/tweaks" (just follow the prompts and reboot the phone)
I scored a 966 on quadrant with stagefright enabled and cpu at 768.
Nope, drag and drop FTW
Do this on the desktop of you computer and just drop the files into my ROM. Then turn signature verification off in recovery and flash your modded version of nROM.
When trying to install nRom, and I'm in android recovery,
I only have 4 options, think it's called LG recovery.
Don't have the option to flash the nRom.
Here's what I've done.
Installed TR1.5 then 1.6.x
did this -->[How-To] Unroot your phone and return to stock
Did the update via LG updater.
Did this thread --->Rooting the LG Optimus S with software version LS670ZVC
Used this ---> recovery-thunderc-s-RA-v1.2-GNM.img.zip
Used the OptimusRoot.zip from the above thread.
update.zip (failed) as the thread said it would.
Phone works.
Now I'm trying to install nROM v1.5.1
"1. Ensure that your phone is rooted and you have a custom recovery."
I take it that the above recovery-thunderc-s-ra-v1.2-gnm is not
an acceptable "custom recovery" or am I missing something else?
To get to the recovery screen I used the phones home-vol/down-power
button. I'm kinda lost, any suggestions what I'm doing wrong?
I've read so much that I've gotten lost in the tech speak.
Be gentle, I'm an old man and my learning curve has speed bumps.
Thanks
Thanks for the advice. Would you recommend replacing both lge-res.apk and the framework-res.apk from another ROM and dumping it in nROM (even though the framework res maybe older?) I tried decompiling lge-res.apk from my other ROM and see that the RSSI bar images are not even in PNG format (instead opening it up with a hex editor shows they all start with QM.. 0x514D0B06 - have no idea what format that is...)
I guess I am just trying to get back the stock signal bars (6 bars instead of 4 in nROM - bars 1/2 and 4/5 have the same .pro PNG image in nROM it seems)
Not sure if I should just replace the pro images in the apk or if I should just use the whole framework apk from another ROM and dump it in nROM. Suggestions?
