Is anyone else getting frequent force closes with the new music player in TR 1.8.3? Just about every other time I hit the menu button while in the music player, it force closes. I rebooted and I also reflashed but neither has fixed the problem. Given that the new music player was a big part of 1.8.3, I'm sure others who have upgraded to it have tried out the new music player. The fact that nobody has posted about FCs while using it makes me think it's just me.

I had it happen to me once yesterday. I was doing a lot of bouncing around from tab to tab when it happened. So far today it hasn't happen.

I put off updating for a while, did it yesterday, and just wanted to share. I went from VC 1.7.

I pushed the VD update with the LG mobile tool, then did a nandroid restore from a backup I made just before that for root. After rebooting, I went into recovery, wiped cache and Dalvik, and flashed 1.8.3.

Everything was fine, except NONE of my apps worked. They all force closed every time. I had to go in and uninstall and redownload them all, after which they all worked fine and dandy. I'm not sure if I forgot a step or it was just something with my settings, but I just thought it worth mentioning.

Just a note:

I like to install every rom fresh. (wiping--Data, Cache, and Dalvik before flashing) May not have to, but I feel like it runs better.

If you use a backup app like Titanium Backup, you can be up and running with a new rom in just a few minutes. Saves all the time of downloading everything from the Market again.

I agree... Everytime I flash a new ROM I clear EVERYTHING. Might as well start like a virgin... For people that only happens once.. with a Driod it can be like tha first time ova and ova again. lol.

Is anyone having problems with google voice. I did the upgrade to 1.8.3 from 1.82. And now when i get a call, I get one ring from it, and it goes to voicemail. It worked fine before the swap, unless there is a new issue with GV.

just noticed something....

on the market it says IMPORTANT: You must open Google Voice at least once after upgrading to route calls...

Did u do this? Since the update?

My request for 1.9 is the Power control bar at the top of the notification pull down bar. I'm sure its in the works 'wink wink' when Ginger comes over. :)

Ermmm... uh, what the #%$! happened to my data services?

You flashed ThundeROM over an incompatible radio. Per our warning in the changelog, and also the requirements from post #1:

Your phone must be rooted, have a custom recovery, and be running the VD baseband. No exceptions. Anything less and the ROM won't work properly.

You need to go HERE and from the sounds of it, you'll need part 3 or 4.

Im currently running 1.8.3 with the thunder-c recovery and vd radio, for some reason i am unable to update my profile, any suggestions?

it says that the ##rtn# is bad for the thunder-c recovery. the sprint cust. rep. said i could try ##72786# and it asks for a service code, is that my msl?

You should use Xionia CWMA recovery. It works with ##786# reset. If you do ##786# reset with thunderc recovery it won't boot and you'll need to do the unbrick procedure. Yes, that service code they mentioned is your MSL. ##72786# is supposed to just reset your NVRAM and leave data alone, but sometimes it isn't aggressive enough. You can play along and try what they suggest. If it fixes it great. If not, you have the MSL code written down so you can do a ##786# reset without needing to talk to them.

new to android, just got the optimus S and flashed/installed thunderom, its awesome. one question tho:

if i need to take my phone for service (i.e. drops and breaks or somethin) i have warranty so i would naturally take it to sprint since its covered, but before i did that it would probably be wise to uninstall custom ROMs and reflash original stock, so is there a way / guide / forum post that describes how to uninstall a custom rom?

There is a link for that in sfhub's signature.

Hey guys, just a few questions. I know the answers are buried in the forum (actually, I think I've read about all this before, just forgot and with my school schedule just don't have time to dig through it all, sorry).

1. I am curious as to how TR (1.8.3) handles JIT and Stagefright.
a. I see that the “BuildProp-ThundeROM-Stagefright.zip” is pushed to the sd card after flashing, but do I now need to flash that zip as well in order to enable it?
b. Is JIT in the “BuildProp-ThundeROM.zip” and does that need to be flashed as well (after flashing TR)? If not how is it enabled?
c. What are your thoughts on JIT and Stagefright; are they needed? I seem to remember reading that they will help with graphics/games.
d. I ask b/c my quardrant scores are lower than I’ve seen them before (446-510). I know that they’re not as reliable as the Linpack scores, but I think I’m also getting low scores on that as well (MFLOPS: 6.966, Time: 12.04 sec), but I’m not sure.

2. I have ran into the “launch day bug” (not coming back from lock w/out holding for options menu) and I was wondering if a “dirty” flash would require me to reflash the HoneycombS2 theme by jasonevil?

Thanks again for all of you guy’s hard work; it REALLY is much appreciated!!
