Has anyone else noticed decreased battery life on 1.8.3 as compared to 1.8.2? I came to 1.8.2 from nRom and battery life was incredible. Went to 1.8.3 from 1.8.2 it got a little worse... Just curious... otherwise... excellent ROM...

Nope still great here. Is your GPS on by chance?

Does anyone know why my hotspot widget doesn't work anymore? Whenever I press it, it just freezes and my phone suddenly restarts.

I had that happen with Zefie's kernel. I switched to pica's and haven't had it happen again.

Has to do with the kernel.. happened in nRom as well, which is why other Roms use other Tether Apps. If you have a Nandroid backup of Thunderom 1.8.2 (or when you know it worked last), Restore to that image...Then install 1.8.3 from that point. I had the exact same problem.

I'm still on 1.8.2. Would reinstalling 1.8.2 or installing 1.8.3 fix the hotspot widget issue? I don't think I have any current Nandroid backups =x

i just flashed this onto the optimus v and it works very well. i've made changes to swap the home and menu button, but i have one problem. it doesn't seem to pick up any data. (3g), anyone know where i can start into looking into the issue?

edit: seems like ,most blutooth features work as well

edit2: looks like most of everything is working on this after some minor edits. the only problem is now the mms

This person posted back on March 18 and said he got it to work but he had to make some changes. Not sure how involved they were and he still has an issue with mms, or at least did at that point...

I came from 1.7 to 1.8.3 and I have also seen a significant drop in battery life. I did not wipe data, just cache and dalvik cache using the instructions in the Robchaos thread: HERE

I do have GPS enabled probably 75% of the time but saw no real battery drain with 1.7 ThunderROM. I'm thinking that I may have to wipe data, cache and dalvik and re-flash. Just wondering if anyone thinks that would help?

Thanks!

I never ran thundeROM is it better than either of the cm7's?

Well it is more stable and everything works. But since cm7 is gingerbread, TR is lacking alot of the cool options. But as far as functionality, then IMO yes I like TR better.

Last I checked there were quite a few things listed in the Google Issue Tracker in the OP. But if it does all you need it to do then awesome. I think the biggest issue for most people is the Bluetooth problem.

I wiped Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache last night and so far it seems my battery is back to normal. It was pretty bad coming straight from v1.7 VC to v1.8.3 VD with only flashing Cache and Dalvik. I was only getting about 8 hours of moderate usage.

I'll report back if I'm able to make it to my usual sixteen hours heavy usage before charging today.

Thanks KSmith and Beezy love your ROM and have been on it since v1.4!

Also thank god for Titanium Backup! Made starting from scratch a lot less painful! :p
