Huge thanks to KSmithInNY, beezy, and drellisdee (and all of the other contributors) for the work on this ROM (not to mention all of the support to teach us noobs how to root, flash ROMs, etc.). I'm new to the android scene and the Optimus S is my first android device. The walk through instructions and troubleshooting guides on these forums are invaluable. Thanks again for making these accessible to all of us. BTW, this ROM is awesome! What a boost to performance. Keep up the great work.

This ROM is super stable so far. Any new developments coming up?

When's 1.6 or 2.0 coming? Its been weeks without an update...

We are always working on something new.;) Things just have to tested and reworked. We try to make sure everything is on the up in up before we release anything. We are just like all of you we love updates and improvements, with all that siad we don't have a set 'eta' on a update but know there is one in the works and as soon as it's ready we will push it out.

Quick question that may be a little off-topic:

I've noticed that the Sprint apps have been ripped from somewhere and the apk's are available for download. Any chance of getting the apk's for the new apps in the ESPN Pack? I'd really like to access some of the apps (other than ScoreCenter) but I like Thunderom more. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Absolutely love this ROM. Thanks to everyone who made it possible with the rooting and the flashing and the overclocking and the.... awwghbbaw you know what I mean. *Bill Cosby voice* :)

Just posted this in the general thread, but thought I'd ask for help here as well, if any of this sounds familiar, please help. I am not familiar with the Optimus, and I admit I shouldn't have gotten bored, rooted and flashed ROMs to it... Hi, my name's Phil, and I'm a flashaholic...

Hello all!

I'm having a bit of a problem with my girlfriend's Optimus S. All of the sudden, the buttons (home, menu, back and search) started flashing, and the phone won't boot. It WAS running ThunderRom 1.5 very well, and litterally, all of the sudden, it started this new disco show. I know the phone worked fine earlier, 'cause my GF was on Facebook ALL NIGHT. I know she hasn't installed any apps, and the only thing she's done recently is take pics off the SD of a house we were looking to rent. I can't boot at all, into recovery or normally. I've removed the battery, removed the SD, tried plugged in, and unplugged. Not sure what happened to it, but this litterally came out of nowhere. I don't know if she tried to update anything system wise, but I doubt it, seeing as last i checked she had 20 apps requiring updates, and she never goes into the settings...lol.

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated, as she can't live without her phone. We're pregnant, due next month, and can't afford a new phone, but NEED communication.

Thank you!

Have you tried leaving it plugged in for atleast 15-20min. Then pull the battery out and put it back in then try to boot recovery(home+volume down+power). See if maybe the battery just isn't charged enough to do anything at all.
What's it do when you try to boot into recovery?

You are exactly right beezy. This happened to my phone while tethering and I almost rage quit. Charging for a few minutes let it boot right up though.

This ROM is amazing!!! Very stable and fast. I put it on my phone and my brothers. I did however use Titanium Backup to remove a few things that I don't need but other than that I just wanted to say great job and keep up the good work. I'll be following this one.

Hello Nerd's just kidding. I'm very new to this world of Smart phones so 2 weeks ago I bought the LG Optimus S. Then I stumbled onto this forum and became interested in what and how to root my phone. I read all the info and then used the z4root plan. All went well until I tried to install a rom (Optimus Root.zip), below is what the recovery program stated.

E: No Signature (3 files)
E: verification failed
Installation aborted

So I have downloaded the thunderRom for my Optimus S phone and will give it a try. I'm glad you had me set up the recovery it worded as designed. A few questions now 1. How do you re-install apps that you paid for? I wiped all the data and had no access to them.

Thanks

Jeff

Another question ( man I'm such a newbie at this). How do you upgrade the SD card after I rooted the phone with a 2 gb card and upgrade to a 8 gb.

Thanks

Paid apps will show up in the market under "My Apps" as long as you used the same email address for the Market. (I think, enter the market, hit settings, hit My Apps).

first boil a pot of water
second hold your head in it
third wait till you pass out.

now that youve done that, open up market press menu and then my apps scroll to the bottom of the list and you'll see some apps that say "purchased" click them and you'll have the option to download them again for free. alternatively you can search out those programs again and when you find them they'll say purchased at which point you click on them and you'll have the option to download them again for free.

you made reference to a "few" questions but only stated one, are there more?

this one's a bit more tricky...

find a 55 gallon drum of oil, (sams club 500$)
find a lighter (bic 0.99$)
get in your birthday suit and jump in oil(0$)
watching you set fire to the oil drum your in will be just priceless for us.

When the hospital releases you

remove 2gb sd card
insert 8gb sd card

upgrade complete.

You may also want to copy the contents of the 2gb card to the 8gb card, after formatting the 8gb card.
