Very slight issue with this ROM that I noticed today. I went outside of my service area and started roaming. The roaming icon is black against the dark taskbar (which I love by the way). Makes it really hard to see. Very small detail, but a detail none the less.

GREAT work by the way.. thanks so much!

Good catch. We'll look into it.

Installed this just earlier and had no problems at all, was the first time every ROMing out a android phone.
As I am always roaming when inside my house I too did notice the black triangle for roaming, while it does not bother me so much a diffrent color would probaly not be a bad thing.

Also threw this build up on my host as well if it helps:
MOD Edit - Mirror removed.

Not sure if anyone saw this, but a walk through series of pictures was posted yesterday for the Nexus S running Gingerbread. Now if you aren't aware, Gingerbread is the release which is going to bring UI changes to make the phone more appealing.

Here are the only changes that I immediately noticed ....
1) The status bar is now black ... ::looks at his phone running ThundeROM::: check
2) The notification system is now colored ::looks at his phone running ThundeROM:: check
3) The AOSP launcher is now colored ::looks at his phone running ThundeROM:: check
4) The only UI change i noticed which we haven't already done is the dialer has changed slightly which i figure would take us 15minutes to an hour to do

How cool is that!!!

Note: I will not link to the other site which sourced this story, you can find it if you want. I'm sure AC will run it today and when/if they do I'll link to their article. Call me partial but .... I'm partial lol :p

just wondering , i saw the post on enabling JIT... does this ROM include that or do i still need to flash/update with that zip?

and does the background come with the ROM :P

Doh, sorry.... missed that. i feel a bit dumb now. :o

Man you guys are really hard on yourselves!!!!! No need to feel dumb, honest mistake that anyone can make.

Typically if someone calls another person a name or infers something like "you're dumb" I'd give them an infraction but in these forums people keep referring to themselves negatively! I'm gonna start infracting you guys for insulting yourselves  ..... which i don't think any other mod has ever done

That's a joke, i wouldn't really give people an infraction for insulting them self (unless you used vulgarity, profanity, etc etc) but my point is ... lighten up guys. At the end of the day it's only a phone and this is only a forum :)

Now go have a beer and enjoy some ThundeROM!!

It looks like everyone is having a good time rooting and ROMing, and I'm stuck here staring at two tracking numbers (one for my phone and one for my screen protector). I can't wait until I can get in on the fun. Great work guys!

I have a question about Sprint navigation. Usually Sprint preloaded Sprint Navigation on all of their phones and its actually pretty refreshing not to see sprint bloatware on Optimus but it also presents a little problem. I read through the manual and found out that in order to get Sprint Navigation I have to install Sprint ID and then I'll be able to download navigation app. Here is the problem as Sprint ID is pretty useless, this feature was removed from ThundeROM and now I have no idea how to get my hands on the Sprint navigation app? Not sure why but I actually prefer it over Google maps navigation.

Ok now heres one what about Sprint TV, my wife and i love free Disney channel ( good for kids)... how do i get that app back after i flash?

Don't know about Sprint TV app but I was able to get Telenav app from the link that Beezy posted.

Speaking of Mirrors. Speaking from experience (when I was cooking ROMs for WinMo devices) you might want to limit number of mirrors that popup. It can get out of hand very fast. Problem can occur if corrupt file gets posted and then replicated on mirrors. Another problem that might occur is file gets corrupt during download and then gets posted to the mirror unintentionally. This might result in bad flashes.

We agree and in fact, have been discussing removing the linked mirrors on the site. In addition to what you posted there are other concerns we have such as ...
1) mirrors don't allow us to track the number of downloads
2) a person hosting a mirror could theoretically post any ROM or application they want, or make changes to our ROM and post it. Were not saying someone has or would do that, were saying it's possible. It would really anger us if something like this were to happen because we care for your phone as much as you do.

Like i said we've been talking about it and we'll figure it out soon.

EDIT - we've decided to remove the mirrors. I hope the guys who were kind enough to post them understand that we are truly grateful for the generosity (hosting is not free, so thanks guys). We just decided that for now, it's in the best interest not to have them. That does not mean that we won't contact you in the future though if something changes. Again, thanks for those guys that did the mirroring, this is why we love AndroidCentral.com. It's not just a forum, it's a community!

no, no, dont unzip the rom. Just copy the zip file to the root of your sd card and then flash that.

I followed the instructions and everything seems to work fine execpt the wifi won't turn on. It just says Error.

No, where can I find a kernel?

I think Beezy was asking that as a troubleshooting question like "you didn't try flashing a kernel did you?"

Here would be my suggestion. Go into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik only (dont wipe factory data). Reflash the ROM. This will retain all your personal data such as contacts, emails, texts blah blah blah. Basically it will keep your stuff and reapply the entire ROM including the kernel.

Wifi certainly works. Check image 1,2,4,5 in the 2nd post, the blue rays in status bar are wifi.
