Since flashing to tr I noticed that when I get something from market that the download will stop and I have to dl the app again. I believe I read that it may have been something on sd it even happened with new sd.

Not the sd or the rom. Been an issue with googles vending files for months. I said it in the thread loooong ago, it's gotten to the point where some developers include it in their app description. See pocket legends for one of the many examples.

T-mobile's Optimus-T has an LG camera app that is much better than the Android camera app the S has. Perhaps it can be extracted and ported to the S?

Found Ubuntdroid and JoeMomRom for Optimus T. Both contain an app called CameraApp.apk (Optimus S's is just called Camera.apk). Tried to install the apk directly, got a message saying "Applicaiton not installed." There's also a lib in these roms called /system/lib/libOlaCameraJNI.so that doesn't exist on Optimus S ThundeROM. It also looks like at least one of libcamera_client.so, libcamera.so, and libcameraservice.so might be different (libcamera.so has a different file size). Do I risk breaking my phone if I copy the libOlaCameraJNI and libcamera from Ubuntdroid to my phone? Is that even a good idea, or would the linking be all wrong?

Can I load SetCPU with the kernel included in the ROM or should I download and flash a different kernel if I want to use a different OC value than what's included?

not at all. but you may try flashing the different. uildprops that were placed on your sd card to see which one gives you the performance your looking for. I do alot of online streaming so I have the deluxe buildprop flashed and my setcpu set to 806/340 with interactive governor and have excellent performance

Do I risk seriously messing up my phone if I use .so files from the Optimus T's ROM in the /system/lib directory? I remember reading some post that someone had successfully run an Optimus U rom on the S.. pictures suggest that the hardware is exactly the same between those two, though.

thanks for the info, im sorta a noob when it comes to setcpu and this is my 1st custom rom, how would i really tell if my phone is faster or not? i tried playing with setcpu but it all seems the same, (same meaning fast speeds)

there are several benchmarking apparently avail for free in the market the ones that are used more are linpack which shows you the number of processes and gives an idea of speed. and the second is quadrant which does several tests and compares yours to other devices. also if you look in the kg forums you will see a thread for lg optimus s benchmark screenshots to see what fellow users are getting

Lost 3gp streaming after installed thunder rom

Sorry if this gets frowned upon. I did post about this a while ago and go no help and still frustrated by this.

I am running Thunder ROM and after just a few hours of flashing it, my 3gp streaming stopped working. I stream my movies from orb somewhat often and 3gp is the only format it streams that will work on android. It did work initially. I tried flashing the rom a few to
Es after formatting what the directions say to format. Every attempt results in the streaming ability working at first then failing every single time after that. I tested both without installing any apparently and after setting my phone how I like it. Tried with and without stagfright too.

If someone wants, I'll set up a dummy account temporarily to see if it works for anyone else.

One thought I had was to copy whatever file(s) that determine what can be streamed back from stock if that's what I have to do but don't know what ones control that.

I am pretty familiar with android and rooting/modding it. But I am no develope. You don't have to think newbie here but I do need some help. Thanks.

Swapped out only the libcamera.so. Wouldn't boot (this is on legorom; it hung on the Sprint logo). Swapped back. I feel like I'm taking shots in the dark. Anyone know how all this works?

koo thanks! once installed can i delete everything else and just keep the sprint tv app?

Yeap, use any file manager from the market or the built in application manager.

another question i have is do i need to download Boot_600_max.zip inorder to get high speeds with this rom? using setcpu?

No you don't have to download Boot_600_Max. The rom is running slightly OverClocled already after you flash.
Stock max cpufreq=600
ThundeROM cpufreq=748
Some phones won't boot at 748 or there's people that don't want to overclock so i made a flashbale file for them to go back at stock speeds.

You won't do any damage. The worse that will happen is either a bootloop or it just won't boot. I would say try replacing all the .so files that have to deal with camera then try booting if it freezes or bootloops then it going to take more then just replacing some lib files. You also might try removing all .so and .apk files that deal with a camera then add in the the .so files and try putting LGcamera.apk in system/app it won't function from data/app thats were it gets installed if you just click on the app.

Interesting. LGcamera.apk is not in the Optimus T roms. The camera is called CameraApp.apk. Did you mean to say that, or do you think I should find lgcamera.apk to download from somewhere?

Also, I realized that Optimus U appears to have exactly the same hardware style as the S, and read a review that it provides robust camera control, including exposure. Possibly also true for Optimus V. Do you know where I could get ahold of roms for either of those two? Google isn't turning up much.

Thanks!
