Dan06gt, try turning off then turning on ur phone also. That seems to help with isolated issues ppl r having with this phone and rom combo. I don't have anymore problems with the screen than I did before. If u continue to have issues and it becomes unbearable, I would recommend wiping all ur cache in the recovery menu and then re-flashing the rom just to give u a fresh start.

After updating to v1.4 from 1.3, my quadrant score dropped to 475 from 950! And I'm getting weird jerky transitions between screens. What did I do wrong?

Don't forget to search the other responses first ;)

Removing stagefright nukes the Quadrant score, but Linpack score is still nice and high....and really all that matters is how it runs, not a number on a screen.

Thanks again!

And it sounds like the transitions you're getting are perfectly normal too. 1.4 has some new custom transitions- don't be alarmed! I don't think you did anything wrong- just check the forums =]

Using the 1.4 rom and haven't seen any issues. New transitions are jerky but look great. Keep up the good work!

This is because stagefright is disabled. Don't worry about your quadrant scores. The difference is almost meaningless.

For those of you who do not like the new transitions it is not hard to disable them. Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Animation -> No Animation.

I'm new to Android modding and installing custom roms, I just wanted to say thanks for the great ROM! Was a little tricky to install at first, but once I did the root the right way and got the custom recovery installed it was smooth sailing! This ROM looks great and I can already tell that it's worth switching from the stock ROM. No more daily messages alerting me that I am low on storage space! Thanks again KSmithInNY and Beezy you guys rock!

I love them thanks.

just upgraded to v1.4 and now all my icons are HUGE. can only fit 2 per homescreen and facebook takes up the entire page. Rebooted, same prob. Turned off, removed batttery and rebooted, same. Help!!

Just wanted to say thanks. I got my Optimus just a few days ago, upgraded from that god-forsaken HTC touch (Don't laugh ;) ) I also thank all the people who made excellent tutorials. This was easier than I envisioned it to be. Starting to really enjoy this now.

if you have tried reflashing..and still the same issues..

do you have launcher pro? if so you can go into pref. (by clicking menu button) and going to HOMESCREEN and then go down to Homescreen Grid and change .. Number of Columns and Number Of Rows..

Now if you don't have Launcher Pro....

then might want to do a full wipe. Custom Recovery - WIPE - data, cache, dalvik

then flash the rom.

(first page of this thread goes through those steps)

SWEET time to update!

what exactly are dalvik and cache? Since I am coming from v1.3 will i have to reinstall all my apps and such?

regardless of the answer to that question if I ever have to do a complete reset and actually do lose my apps or flash a new rom etc...what happens to the apps that i bought? can i redownload them for free?

V1.4 Great

Thanks to everyone that has been included in helping with the development of this ROM. The only mention of anything that is not spectacular is the unlock animation. I can't quite see or figure out what it is attempting to display at the instance. I like the page sliding animations, and the fly in from the lower corner toasts, those are great.

Again, thanks...

Trust me this happens in one form or another on every rom for this phone. It definitely happens in the stock rom. Maybe not exactly the same things will trigger it but like I said, in one form or another... I believe it's inherent to the android system on this phone

Come to think of it I did notice this happen once or twice when I first got the phone. I attributed it to the whole SD card thing, and didn't have the problem after I replaced my SD card. I guess that could have just been a case of coincidence that it happened after loading ThundeROM.

At any rate I love the ROM and am looking forward to what cool stuff the next update will bring.

Davlik and Cache are two things you need to wipe. Hell if I know what they are. To wipe them, go to Custom Recovery, click "Wipe", then wipe Cache, then wipe Davlik-Cache.

Then flash 1.4. This will not erase your apps.

I have no idea bout the complete wipe/download question...hasn't happened to me yet, and I'm still a noob :D.

Yes, you can redownload them for free. They are tied to your google account, so once you set up your google account on your freshly wiped phone, the Market will know who you are and provide you with your paid apps. This even works across phones - when I switched from my Samsung Moment to this phone, my purchased apps were available to redownload.

I just noticed one other thing. Sometimes when I get a text, I press the power button to wake the phone and the screen does not come on. The key lights will light up but the screen will not wake. To bring it back I have to press and hold the power button and the power off menu will eventually come up I can cancel that and the phone will wake. It also seems to happen when I haven't gotten a text in a while. I noticed this yesterday after I installed ThundeROM and it has happen 2 other times, but never with the stock ROM

Just as an aside, I don't think it's isolated to this phone. I would occasionally have that exact thing happen on my Samsung Moment, whether it was stock, rooted, ROM'd... Must be some hinky thing in Android? I dunno.

Just upgraded from 1.3 to 1.4 and I have to say it is very an improvement. I have one suggestion, however, or maybe I'm just ignorant of the option: the new animations to me are very distracting, especially where a window will rush in from left to right and bounce off the right hand side of the screen. It slows me down when I'm trying to do something quickly on the phone, and also it prevents use of the keyboard until it's done doing it's little bouncy animation. In the next iteration of the ROM could you provide an option to disable these zany animations? I really like the windows fades and the pop in from the corner for certain menus, but those bouncy ones affect my productivity in a big way. Just a suggestion. Again, great ROM and I look forward to the new releases!
