Well since this rom i believe is for the optimus S, that may be your problem. Try this, in the dial pad type *#*#4636#*#* and changing the radio, dont know what you'll have to change it to but through that menu you'll have the option.

I had the previous version running just fine before... just crazy that now this isn't working....

I also thought I read on here that thunderom was able to work on the v, which is why I put it on before.

1.7 might not because its based on the newest VC update from Sprint.

So I went from 1.62 I believe to 1.7 and now after Doing a wipe of data, cache, Nd the dalvik... I have no data service.

any thoughts?
running optimus V on virgin mobile.

thanks!

If you don't have service your probably trying to run 1.7 on SW Version ending in V9, when u need to be on VC.

If you go bafck to 1.62, then update, then flash to 1.7 and clear dalvic you should be fine (sprint) For the Optimus V, um I wouldn't be even on this thread

If this were you flashing your computers bios, you probably would have bricked your motherboard by flashing a S over V :)

When I cleared everything then went back.. still no data... gotta love it.. that's what I get for trying to hurry & flash everything while on the road... literally

Guess I will play around later...

Just to b clear.. since today I'm an idiot...

Update the software from virgin... that it keeps bugging me about... then flash?

Hi guys, I was checking out my settings in juice defender after the update and I noticed that when I connect the wifi now i still have 3g bars?

Shouldn't android disable 3g when on wifi?

So I attempted to flash 1.7 from 1.6.2 and then I got some hands-free activation issues and I also noticed I didn't update to VC so I flashed back to 1.6.2 and everything is fine.

I'm just rather curious as to see how will this baseband update interfere with the future versions of TR, seeing as how Sprint pulled the VC update or something... just a thought?

No, It's been this way. See the screen shot's in post #2 for reference which are from V8. Those "bars" arent 3G coverage those are your connection to the network, whether EVDO or 1xrtt. You need the phone to maintain a minimum of 1xrtt connection to the network otherwise the things that make a phone a phone would cease to function. Features such as calls, sms, and mms go over 1xrtt. Literally, the only thing that goes over EVDO (3G) is data, everything else is 1xrtt. If turning on wifi killed that connection your phone would only be able to access data, nothing else. I digress, my point is the bars have and will continue to be there. Turning on wifi only rids the network connection data indicator as thats all that matters, bars remain.

The VC update has not been at all been pulled.

Can someone running ThundeROM do Beezy and myself a favor please?

1) Download the free app "shoot me" from the market
2) Go to Menu > Settings > About Phone
3) Snap a picture of the about phone screen and post it (Don't worry, theres no PII :p )

Thanks in advance!

Here you go.

Thanks smccloud. We appreciate you running our software. As a small token of our appreciation, KSmith and myself, in partnership with Androidcentral.com, would like to give you a body glove case to protect your phone. We'll be in touch via PM with more details. Thanks again

Do the theme's from the Lego Rom thread work with 1.7?

By the way, just flashed this onto my wife's phone last night. She was running Gingerbread but some days her battery just died in no time.

She had V9. I loaded a backup of the stock rom and then updated to VC through the LG updater.

After the update loaded up, went back into recovery and flashed 1.7. Everyone went super smooth and it couldn't have been any easier then that. Thanks for the ROM!
