ThundeROM is the shizznit.

But it's about to get 10 times better...

Wow...better??! Like you said, its already the shizznit...can't imagine it getting better. Must be something amazing on the horizon. I'm in anticipation mode now! :D

EDIT: Do I get a prize for posting to agree and discovering the secret "white font" message? ;)

Sure you can have a prize. Dunno what that might be though :p

And yes, there is something really really cool on the horizon. Keeping my mouth shut though so you'll just have to wait and see.

Sure no problem. Hope it works for you.
Works so far. Anyone with this problem should do this IMO. Ive been using it hard since yesterday. Trying to recreate the issue and every time its worked perfectly. Thank you again

Sure thing. I found out about it from nROM 1.6.2 so the credit goes to Nick7.

Keep in mind, if you reflash the rom, you will need to edit the build.prop again.

1.8.3 is up.

A brief explanation:

-Honeycomb music player replaces froyo music player. This was done because google cloud music service is going to launch soon (hopefully) and using this music player will allow you to stream music from the cloud onto froyo. Also, it just looks and works better as a music player until cloud service is released.
-Updated Maps. The new update pushed out was wasting some 5+MB of app space. This will push it back into system and free that space up for you.
-SD card read write speed changed from 128kb to 2048kb. Holy crap. That is all. Use SD tools (free in the market) for a before and after.

Added the following to build.prop based on a suggestion from nick7:
Maximum events window manager can handle per second raised to 60
Proximity sensor debounce time reduced to 25

The last 2 items are basically being tested. These are great idea and used to be used a lot back in the 2.1 (Hero, eris) days. Those are 2.1 devices though and back then these values were set in the build.prop. Since then i believe these 2 things have been changed to be controlled by the kernel. Either way, if they do help awesome, if they don't then they also do not cause any harm what-so-ever.

Anyway, enjoy.

EDIT- Corrected typo

Thanks to the sd speed hack my write speed jumped from 2.1 MB/s to 5-6 MB/s. Read speed jumped from about 8 MB/s to 21-something MB/s. If you haven't already you better hit that Thanks button and please please PLEASE consider a donation to KSmith and/or beezy because they both deserve it.

If I understand correctly, I need to do a full wipe before upgrading from ThundeROM 1.8.2 to ThunderROM 1.8.3?

The auto-zipalign script has a typo

mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system

mount -o ro,remount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
The ro,remount should be for mtdblock5 not mtdblock4. It doesn't have any (negative) effect as a remount is ignoring the source device parameter but is better to be consistent.

just updated from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3

but somehow the new google maps 5.3 was not included.
did this happen to anyone else?

Is it possible the one you have in /data/app is hiding the one in /system/app?

Try uninstalling Google Maps and see if the one in /system shows up.
