Hello,
I was trying to flash a ROM that required a partition, I followed the partition through a custom recovery found here All In One Recovery Thread - Android Forums

Anyways, I did a partition and moved it to ext4, then after, the computer would not read the SD card at all. I plug the phone into computer and use USB-MS toggle in recovery to mount phone but it just shows up on my computer saying "Please insert disc into removable disc E:"

Also, in recovery mode, it won't even read the SD card saying that there is no SD card but there is one....

I have been searching for hours, please help!

ext4 is not going to be recognized by a windows computer. Only linux or Mac.

You will need a kernel and a rom that support ext4 and you need to mount them yourself. You wont be able to browse the card like a regular Fat formatted card in the rom.

Usually the partition needs to be first on the SD card also, and sometimes it needs to have a fat partition as well just so the phone will recognize that a card is inserted.

You can use gparted in linux (or a gparted boot cd) to reformat the card back to fat or you should be able to put the sd card into an sd slot if your pc has one and format it back if you are looking to just get it useful again.

Well, I was able to remove the SD partitions from a way I found googling. So no more SD partitions. All that is left is to format it except I forgot I don't have the SD card adapter for my pc >.< ah well, hopefully all goes well. Thanks for the input guys, I'll post results tomorrow

alright well the computer won't even read it in the adapter so I think it's dead for good... may the SD rest in peace...thanks for the tips!

maybe you merged all the partitions into the first ext4? try downloading the gparted live CD and using that to see if it recognizes it
