I need some help but it seems to overlap a few different areas. I downloaded two different themes but cannot flash them. When I reboot recovery and I try to flash the zip files on my sd card it won't let me select them. If I push the down button it skips over the themes. I WAS able to flash an animation boot. Weird. I double checked and the theme zip files are indeed on my sd root.

Some possibly unrelated "issues":

When I reboot to recovery I get a black screen even with the newest version of Xionia. I use screen cast to see what's going on on my phone.

Some apps refuse to install for me.

When I go to manage apps and push "move to sd" it always tells me I can't, then I push it again and it does.

Any idears?

I would try to reinstall your recovery. I don't recall seeing any other users report anything quite like this. I would also maybe try the thunderc recovery if after you reinstall xionia and it does not work.

As far as being able to flash something like a bootanimation but not a theme.......... you got me there. Do you have another SD card to try as well? Just Shootin out ideas. If these don't work, create your own thread stating the issues and I'm sure you can get some good feedback.

Yes, but if you flash it over a theme, you will lose the theme. All the themes in post #3 have the patch already incorporated. As well as blueTouch and softTouch. I think it was left out of the themes in Jon's post #2 on accident. No biggie though, don't really think it does much IMHO.

Do I need to do anything before I attempt to reinstall the recovery? Nandroid backup I assume, but will it just replace the existing recovery? Nothing to delete off sd card or anything?

Nothing to delete, it will just replace the existing one. I would redownload the recovery of your choice though just to be safe.

I would suggest making a ShellROM theme that works good with the black notification icons (gmail, email, messaging, etc.)

I can hardly see that thin red line from a distance. Are there any themes here with better contrasting bluetooth notification icons? I didn't see many pics in the initial posts which reflected this icon, and certainly not both connected and disconnected.

On my old Palm Centro, they use to be totally different colors (light grey unconnected, blue connected). It would be cool if there was more contrast, so that I could see it at a quick glance from four feet away.

And again yes that is a good idea, I don't use Bluetooth so never noticed that. But I will cook that up tonight. How about greyed out not connected and blue connected?

Yeah, that's totally cool, anything would be better than that thin red (nearly invisible) line to signify connected. Even blue vs android green would be fine.

Tweaked Bootanimations
I brought these over from a thread I had started a bit ago.

I played around and tweaked some pre-made bootanimations from XDA member optmsprim2.

I shortened them and changed the screen size so that they run better for the Optimus s.

Nothing real fancy here, but very simple and smooth.

1. Make a Nand backup (if you want to)
2. Just flash in recovery, no need to wipe anything.


??where are these boot animations for optimus there isnt a link??
