It's probably not a hardware issue at all, most likely it is just a poorly written baseband (radio code) and will be fixed in an update much like the Drpod Charge was.

if samsung knew about the charge and it having issues and if the galaxy nexus does have the same radio why wasn't the "radio code" included in the update already it should be easy to fix if they did it before.
i just think theres something more to it.
I went into the verizon store to buy a Nexus and left with a Razr.
1. Both phones had equal signal strengh.
- Razr has an sd card, nexus does not.
- Razr has 10mp camera, nexus has 8mp.
- I believe the nexus has a removable battery, the Razr does not.
-There are a plethora of nexus custom roms, all ics; Razr has limited and they're mostly gb.
The rest of the differences in specs on phone scoop are negligible. I don't listen to the signal complaints because that's subjective and geographical. So basically, it comes down to small spec differences and if you want a wide variety of roms. Given the choice, I'll probably get the Razr, since I want to be able to take my sd card if the phone craps out... I can't imagine what you're supposed to do if that happens on the nexus and your pics and data/apps are backed up to virtual sd space... On a dead phone.

Yea, sorry I was going off memory.
As for the sd card, backing up to gdocs simply doesn't cut it. If I nandroid and back up apps and data, I doubt its possible to upload those nandroid and app backups to my gdoc account. So basically if the phone craps out, all that data is lost, which is why sd cards are used to begin with. If I'm wrong and someone has a nexus to explain better, please let me know.
However the camera and battery don't matter to me as much as an sd card. I don't see much else performance wise that's different... It seems esthetic and small personal preferences to me.
Rezound.....bottom line if signal matters and calls are important.
Sure, I can upload automatically to my g+ now, but that posts it to my profile, not just my associated picasa account. That's not a solution/alternative IMO, that's working with what you've got, so basically, google is telling us they want to keep data on the hardware or cloud, which is fine, but I would think they would have a better data backup interaction with gdocs before selling phones with no sd capabilities. Not Google Docs I said Google Plus and the pics are uploaded automatically so there is nothing that you have to do there. As for the loss of app data stored on the memory card point taken. SD cards crap out from time to time as well so you're fooling yourself if you think it is safe there. Either way you are gonna want to save some of that stuff to your computer if you are that concerned about it.

lots of nexus bashing around here.
If Google actually thinks syncing apps and phone files is the way of the future without removable media, they had best start lobbying the carriers to offer affordable data allowances higher than 2gb.
You're missing the point. If Google wants the phones to sync data, rather than use an sd card, that means the phone will use more data, because it's not just going to sync over wifi. The practice, by design, uses more data and I don't see Google subsidizing more data for customer plans; that's my point. You dont need a data connection just just wifi or a data cable (which of course comes with the phone)....
