Declined on trade in because of BS reason that simply isn't true

I'm referring to the extra step of removing the account prior to resetting the device just to be on the safe side. You spend enough time in the Q&A sections to realize some people have issues with FRP removal. Not all of them are stolen devices. In any event here we go again derailing the OP's thread.
Yeah seems like a issue , but we didn't derail , we on track to inform how to go about this , as OP device was denied because of this .

Yeah but the OP stated they reset the device. Could be it just got documented wrong. I actually reset mine twice on video just to prove it that it was completely wiped because I didn't want to hear any static later.

I factory reset mine Then set it up again with only Google then I did a factory reset and took a video with My note 10 Of the factory reset performing and taking back to the Initial set up screen

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok, so the bottom line is this: factory reset from the system settings menu is supposed to erase your Google account as well on most if not all phones (as demonstrated by bhatech's helpful screenshot), so you're most likely fine if you make sure you factory reset from the system settings. HOWEVER, scheisse happens, so if you want to be extra-careful, just do the simple extra step of removing your Google (and Samsung) account manually before doing the factory reset.

Yep well stated

You have to remove your account first then reset.
On most phones when you reset through setting it removes every account. Only time an activation lock is activated is when it's hard reset without going through the normal settings.

Key word is most ... In any event, it doesn't hurt to go the extra

I did a factory reset through the setting on my Note 8, and Verizon just conformed me of the full 450 rebate.

But I was concerned after reading this post, That I did not remove any account before doing the reset. But next time I will.

I just went to my Google account on my 10+, looked for devices, and there it is my Note 9 that I'm trading in. WoW. When I select the tab to the right of each device it gives me the option to remove it from my account.

I believe that's a little different than removing an account from a device

I've noted a couple of things reading this thread. One is that depending on the carrier version, you may stay signed in the device after a reset (https://www.androidrecovery.com/blog/factory-reset-protection-android.html).
Another item I did not see mentioned is removing and not giving away your SIM. The info stored here can be vast and personal.
And as a side note, when you cancel a website subscription, it's always good to go into your account before closing and anonymize/eliminate your info.
Good luck

I've never had to manually remove any accounts from phone's I've traded or sold. Once I did the factory reset, it cleared it all. This thread just has me a little worried.
Is it possible that the OP just reset the settings only?
