Apple has a beef with everyone.

Motorola has enough patents to wipe apple off the mobile face of the earth, which is why apple hasn't gone after them. Well, and Motorola's products haven't been purposely designed to look similar to apples.

So my sisters boyfriends sister(lol not again) , works at a verizon and I asked her if she knew anything about the bionic. And she said she can't tell me. I asked her to at least say its coming out on the 28th and she laughed and said the news and internet already knows when its coming.... Yay =)). And she also says its going to be awesome.

I emailed Verizon asking about grandfathering and the bionic and usually they say they have no iinfo and this time they said when and if its released. It is looking good for the 28. I've been waiting for rhis phone can't wait to grab one.

I would think it has more to do with LTE. A delayed/late launch would cause me to believe that they want an LTE enabled version. It makes sense since Verizon plans to have upgraded their entire 3g network to also include 4g coverage by 2013. 2 year contracts take us in to 2013 and likely 4g data will be there by then...If you're bringing a new phone out now it would be best to give consumers as few reasons as possible not to buy it.

Lte is only Verizon if that's the case why is it not on any us carriers yet? Samsung is worried more about the lawsuit rather then releasing the phone. And common sense says about the announcement since they usually announce about two weeks ahead.

The processors in Apple's mobile devices are jointly owned by Apple & Samsung. Looks like Apple has had some talks with Qualcomm as a possible replacement. Might get ugly.

Apple has more than enough expertise at the moment to build the chips without samsung. All they need is a foundry. And they have one.

There's also been some strong rumors that Apple may utilize an Intel foundry to build future A-series chips. (Intel has offered up space for manufacturers if they would like it, and pay for it of course)

You will not see an LTE SGS2 anytime soon. And if you do, it will be as thick as the Charge (or thicker).

There is a LTE Tab 10.1 coming out and it's only .02 mm thicker than the GSII. Granted, it has more room for other components than the GSII, but it proves they can still fit a LTE radio in such a thin casing.

Have you seen any of the LTE phones? They are all relatively thick compared to non LTE phones. Even the Charge is thick so if the SGS2 is LTE they are going to have to make it somewhat thicker. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has more space so that's probably why it can be so thin and still fit the LTE radio in.

Well with that last release update, that pretty much seals it up for me! I'm expecting it on the 28th! Can't wait to start seeing it being announced in the next few coming weeks! I'm pre-ordering it asap where's DBM been? Hopefully he has some more specs to share soon!

Yeah I am a little surprised that there have not been more official pics or spec's leaked if we are seriously talking about a July 28th Launch Date, Even an August 4th Launch Date I would think there would be some pictures and such floating around very, very soon.

Obvious Difference is that in a Tab you have room to have the LTE Radio not sitting on top of any other hardware, In our relatively small phones that isn't an option. Everything is packed tight right on top of each other with the battery taking up 60% of the total phone space.

They may just pull a fast one and say "surprise here it is" without any fanfair or prewarning. THEN start all the advertising and such. Either way I am looking at a strong indicator from multiple sources of a July 28th launch......finally.

From what I read over at HOFO none of the trusted members seem to be Indicating a July launch is even possible. On top of that is it normal for say Moto to issue a confidential status on the rest of the Information the FCC has on the presumed Bionic until August 7th if the phone is going to be released prior to that? That doesn't make sense to me. If they want to keep those documents secret I would assume they would want to Keep it secret for a reason, if the phone is released prior to August then why hold the information from the public?
I am hoping someone with more Knowledge on the FCC can address this. Thanks.

Because that is probably in case any issues arrive and they have to push it back a few days also it makes sense they want to keep it under wraps just because it is until Aug 7 doesn't mean it wont come out til then. Think about it if they have confidential until the 7 and its released on the 28 people dont care about not being able to see the full specs since it will be out.

From my various years following cellphones, and other technology confidentiality dates can go months beyond when the device itself is released. Look at Apple with their Iphone, I'm pretty sure for the Iphone 3-4 the agreement went beyond when it was made public and released to retail. It just depends on what type of clauses are on this agreement.

On that note, I really hope it comes out on July 28 or Aug 4th. My wife needs a new phone, and I'm kinda itching to upgrade from my DX. Nothing wrong with my phone, but just want "the latest" but I'm not going to freak out if it's not out by those dates. It's the fun of the chase and leaks.
