Definitely July! [edit]

I work for vzw and so far we haven't heard anything on the Bionic. So, everyone needs to try to relax, because last time someone from best buy said a release date people went crazy a.k.a HTC thunderbolt. I Will look more into it, because I am extremely interested in it as much as everyone else.

I don't listen to what the vzw reps say cause one, many I have spoken to have admitted they don't get told about new devices until a few days before with training two we consumers usually know more than they do anyways. Most vzw reps are reading the same online info we are and four, majority of people on this blog now more how to can do than tech support.

So that latest screenshot from Sam's Club (for the Samsung Conquer on the main AC page) looks amazingly similar to the screenshot of the Droid Bionic screenshot showing a 8/4 date. If that other shot is from Sam's then I am not so sure that a Verizon wouldn't start pre-ordering on the 28th of July. I note that the original Bionic 8/4 screenshot didn't have a source attached to it (as in what store that was from).

Any of you guys see this photo?

Looks like it will be coming soon. Lot of speculation still on whether or not its July 28th or August 4th.
Picture clearly states Aug. 4th but some are saying that it may be third party release date so it could still be July 28th.

This screen has me pretty excited, however, I can't let it get the better of me. There is no proof on this screen shot that tells me it's a leaked document. I mean this could have been done in Word and snapped by a phone and virally posted through the Internet. It's legitimacy is won through what we already know (Droid III release). Apart from that, this could in all likelihood be a fake. (One thing that stands out is the 'linked' and 'Linked' comparisons. Why is one capitalized and the other isn't)

On that note, I hope and have a strong feeling it will be released around the July 28-Aug 4 date and waiting semi-patiently haha

Yeah you gotta take these with a grain of salt. But at this point going stir crazy from waiting and I will take anything to keep me going.

I found a link on a CNET article* to the FCC testing of the motorola device that is most likely the Droid Bionic and I found something very interesting on two of the test documents. Both test documents list using a 1735mAH Battery. (see attached screen shots)
Could this be the standard battery that came with the phone or a battery provided by the FCC?
It would be a little disappointing if it was the standard because I'm hoping for the bigger 1930 mAH but 1735 mAH is still a good size. The Droid ThunderBolt is only 1400 mAH.

Yeah I can't see why they dropped from the 1930 to the 1735. Perhaps they found that they experienced good talk time with the 1735 and save a little space on the phone. Where the 1930 would also provide good battery life but ultimately be the entire back of the phone. Or perhaps the new specs ran more efficiently that made the 1735 more appropriate.

But like you said, it's gotta be better than the 1400 on the TBolt at almost a third more energy output and from what I understand the dual core processor especially the 4460 runs more efficiently and wastes less battery than the single cores. so fingers crossed!

There was an AndroidCentral article too (even referenced in the CNET article). So, no need to go anywhere else. All you need to know is right here. ;)

Yes, all indications point to a 1735mAH battery. There's been questions on why it was downsized from the 1930mAH battery introduced with the initial Bionic. Some have speculated that they might have had to reduce it due to the form factor changes. But don't really know what the true reasoning was.

I'm going with the form factor theory and maybe something to do with price too. What ever the reason its still better then whats out there right now and that good enough for me.

I was browsing through Android Central articles and found one about a Droid 3 accessories list that includes an extended battery of 1930 mAH. Maybe the Droid Bionic will get the same accessory option. At least we can hope for those that find the 1730 mAH not adequate enough.

Yeah and hopefully it will be like the droid x extended battery and not increase the size too much. I mean if it is true that the stock battery is 1735 then there wouldnt really be a need for a 1930 battery since they will probably charge $50 for it.

I agree.

Probably will have an extended battery. That way they have yet another accesory they can push out.

Is this thread dead? Doesn't anyone have anything else they would like to leak this week????

I wish...probably once the Droid 3 releases in stores next week we'll see some good leaks I would guess.

Started seeing some hands on videos today of the Droid 3, and I must say it appears to be MUCH smoother than the DX2. That is a very good sign, considering the Bionic should be even faster. I grow more excited by the day.

Only thing that stinks is I know this Last month of waiting is going to seem just as long as the 6 months we have already waited.... :-\
