Delete E-mails from Server

Does anyone know how to delete emails from the server & not just the phone on a Galaxy S4?

When you set up your email which I am only assuming is gmail, Log into gmail via the web and change the settings so that when you delete it also deletes from the server. You might have the option on your phone email app but if not, Do it as I explained.
