Deleting Primary GMail acct

Hello all. I took over my moms thrill and am trying to delete her email account. Unfortunately, when I try to delete it says "other programs need this program to run. To delete please do a hard reset." I am trying to avoid the hard reset. Any suggestions on making my Gmail account primary without doing a hard reset.

I don't have the same device, but I know what to do.

1. Create/Sign into another gmail account from the gmail app.

2.Delete your mother's account from that same place. This time it should delete it.

the device will always default to the gmail account that was used when the device was set-up--it doesn't matter how many accounts you add through the gmail app or accounts/sync & try to delete any others.

this is why you can only see 1 Google Talk account & can't switch between any other google accounts--the phone itself is tied, primarily, to the main Google Account used by the phone--the account used when setting up the phone.

the only way to change the primary is to factory reset the phone, go through set-up, and enter your gmail account as the Primary on the phone.
