Sorry, I found some posts on this for older phones, but I can't find anything specific to ICS/GN.

With this big screen there are a few mobile site versions I hate, and I also hate having to touch the top left corner of the phone to get to the menu. If there was a button on the lower part of the phone no big deal, but at this point I'd like to have the GN just load all desktop versions of sites.

Anyone know how to do this in ICS?

I agree and find that sometimes the "request desktop site" doesn't work. Would also like to default to desktop. BTW, I hate having to press multiple buttons just to get my bookmarks. Unless I'm missing something you have to press the folders button first, then the book mark button

I agree and find that sometimes the "request desktop site" doesn't work.

This is probably why: When you go to host.com, it detects you are on a mobile browser. It automatically redirects you to mobile.host.com before serving any desktop content. Now you are seeing the mobile content at mobile.host.com. When you then hit Request Desktop Site, you are requesting the desktop version of mobile.host.com. Guess what? There is no desktop version of that. So you are still seeing the mobile site.

You have to finagle around a bit to get back to the desktop site in those situations, but it does work.

for bookmarks, just long press the back button and it will take you to your history. one swipe to the left and you're at bookmarks.

tx for the hint. For the life of me, I don't understand why I have to swipe to the right to get it to go to the left to bookmarks.

nevermind the stupid comment. I'm looking at the top headers thinking that I'm
"swiping" from one to the other. Need to think in terms of moving the whole screen, not the headers. An android newbie.

when in stock browser type "about:debug" without the quotes, then enter. now go to settings>debug>UAString>Desktop.

I wish we could set individual sites to always use desktop version and mobile for others. I prefer the desktop version for almost every site I use but there's one I'd rather use the mobile version for.

Speaking of browsers, is there any way to set the default browser on the GNex? I have the native browser and Lastpass installed. The lastpass brower keeps loading on some sites that I'd rather use the standard browers because they wont load correctly with lastpass. How do I change brower loading?
