I find it ironic that there's all this discussion about the date and that people are talking about the effort involved in making a return or a cancellation over a 2 day difference. Why stress and pull your hair out over such a little thing? Sure we're all early adopters and very excited about getting the phone, but at the same time is it really worth the aggravation? Mellow out and have a little patience. In the end you'll still have it well before anyone else you know, so you can go sell HTC's awesomeness to everyone else, and get an even better phone next year.

My T-Mobile order still says back-ordered with unknown availability, so I guess they really don't know when the T-Mobile one is going to release. Lame.

EDIT: The pre-authorization for the order amount has also been removed from my credit card.

Yes. Card will charge when it ships on the 18th/20th/24th/5th/8th.

Yeah mine now says preordered on the bottom part but still backordered at the top. It previously said backordered on both places. Still says the 18th though.
