Developer Edition - Available April 19th

So i just talked to HTC rep to clarify the 4/24 availability, and they said they have no idea why this is other than high demand. They then just referred me to letstalk, and have been waiting on hold for 15mins so far. How can HTC not be aware when you order it from their website!! Yes, i understand that they use letstalk, but its still initially through their site!.
If I don't receive phone before 4/26 (date for HTC trade up), will i not be eligible for the $100?

Just got off the phone with letstalk... very rude i should add. The rep said that the phone has been pushed back by at least 1 week for all carriers by HTC (although HTC rep is not aware of anything of the sort). No guarantees for when it will shipped. When i told her that ATT will have phone availabe on original release date, she said she doesn't believe that ATT would have it earlier than letstalk since they are the largest phone activators in the country, and if i wanted to cancel and wait for ATT I could go ahead and do so!!! GREAT SUPPORT!!!! didn't need the attitude!!!

THe only good thing is I talked to HTC again (who are great, but don't have all info), they said they would still honor the trade up offer as long as it was ordered prior to 4/26 date.

So i guess we wait and see

Mine changed to 4/20 as well. Still expecting it to ship by the 18th though. I think they just pushed it back to 4/20 so they didn't have to keep updating it every day between now and then.

I doubt it, because some of us got pushed to 4/24. If this was the case then all of us would have same expected date.

Just called and confirmed per HTC customer service from the store that stock has been pushed back to the 20th for early orders and 24th for later orders. That sucks. Oh well I think it's worth the wait. Here's to it shipping on the 20th!

I called and got it, as well as the issue where the purchase needed to be validated, cleared up with a phone call.

So I called, they refused to change it It just so happens I'll actually be at home on the 19th though, so I upgraded to overnight shipping, hopefully that works out. They wouldn't give me the free overnight like other people are getting though, I didn't have the code. Still not sure why I never got those emails.

Argh, or apparently if you change your shipping options - I've now moved to the 24th as well. I'm now going to just stop looking at this and when it shows up it will be a surprise.

I never got them either. I'm not going to sweat it though, I don't love that case they're offering and paying $18 for overnight shipping isn't a deal breaker for me. Seeing how everyone's ship dates have slipped I don't expect to see the device until the 22nd or 23rd now anyway.

Mine changed to 4/24 also. I'm not going to worry about it. I wasn't expecting it to ship until the 18th anyway and I'm familiar with all of this. Every high end Android phone I've preordered or ordered early has been a disaster as far as shipping and infomation. No matter who the manufacturer or carrier they just can't seem get it together. This is one thing Apple excels at. I'm not disappointed, it's just the way it is. I will patiently wait for the HTC One and enjoy it when it arrives.

I alsol never got any code despite signing up to be notified. I did get an email but it said no codes were left. I ordered a day after preorders were available (4/6/13).

Not only am I extremely impatient.. but I'm using a "rented" phone right now. I need to return it in the next couple days.. I then have to "rent" another phone until my One shows up... I'm really hoping it doesn't get pushed back too much further because I don't want to have to "rent" another phone.. Not a big fan of taking the risk of scratching it or something and being stuck with it unable to return it.

That's wishful thinking. Also, they had already put everyone's orders into "backordered" status so they hadn't been updating anything daily.

They put the phones in backordered status however they were still updating the "Expected availability date" every day. The only thing that's changed is that the expected availability date now says the 20th.. or 24th depending on when your order was processed apparently. I don't necessarily think it's wishful thinking at this point to still think that at least the first batch will still ship out on the 18th. Obviously their system is wonky when it comes to tracking the status of orders that are not currently available to ship out. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I remember that but in the grand scheme of things their process is still a lot smoother. We're also comparing not having a color choice to not having a phone available at all . When they announce a phone, you know the cost, versions and, dates they will be availible.

Edit: I don't won't to go off on a tangent get into a Apple vs. Andoid thing, just pointing out my experience. I'll be happy when i get te phone.

I'm now at 4/24. Sad if it's delayed, but to be honest, I wouldn't have received mine until the 25th or 26th anyway. I'll be traveling, so knew it would be a few days before I actually laid hands on it.

Agreed. The HTC One is a great phone but the third party company handling all their orders (Let's Talk) is inefficient, inconsistent and broken to say the least. Apple handles it all directly, and its usually a relatively smooth and transparent process to order from them or make changes. I was on hold with Let's Talk for 35 minutes before I got a person on the line and she couldn't make any changes to my order without cancelling it and putting me at the back of the line. If you go to Letstalk.com you'll see a banner which reads, "always free overnight shipping!" -- yet that's clearly not the case for everyone.

Basically I'm just saying that I don't think those dates are very accurate. We've seen them change how many times now since Friday? 4? 5? I wouldn't be surprised to see them change a few more times in the next week.

Nope, they initially said they were shipping the day that you ordered the device, this was clearly in error. Then they removed the ship date all together to fix the error. Now we all have ship dates and they seem to be based on when you ordered, which would make sense. I doubt they would put an erroneous ship date up there after they had already removed it once.

Now we all have ship dates and they seem to be based on when you ordered, which would make sense. I doubt they would put an erroneous ship date up there after they had already removed it once.

Not true, I ordered mine on Sunday in the afternoon and people that ordered two days before me are being told the 24th, while mine's listed as the 20th, did I just get lucky with lottery? I doubt it.

Edit: Just looked at it again and it changed to the 24th in the matter of the past few hours, strange D:

I ordered within the first few mins and mine still shows 20-April.
