I would have understood if they were able to send an email stating what was going on but nope! The straw that broke the camels back was they posted on twitter 3 hours ago bantering on how the htc one was available and to order now.

OK, here's a thought.

I'm 53. When you get my age, a lot of **** stops being exciting, but for some reason I'm really anxious to get my hands on this phone. So all of the anticipation and the delays are making the wait seem forever. And when you get to my age, anything that slows down the perception of time is a good thing. The years go by so fast.

A Monday delivery seems so far away right now. WOOHOO! This will be the first weekend ever that drags on for an eternity!

I'm gonna let mine ride now that I have the free Saturday delivery. If I don't have even a tracking number by 8pm tomorrow I'll probably go up to ATT before they close and try to score one.

I know right. Once it's started becoming apparent to me they weren't shipping them, I went to cancel. Took forever to get someone on the phone. Sent a reply email to the order confirmation requesting cancellation and it was done within an hour.

a few more days won't kill me, and i have 2 day shipping! jerks wouldnt give me free overnight, if i got through AT&T i would have to pay tax, not worth it for me to get through AT&T anyway, saving like $50 at least

So i've got some weird news..

i called letstalk twice today around 5PM PDT ..

First time i call the CSR said everyone that ordered on the 5th will get shipped tonight, their system hasnt been up to date yet so we wont see anything till later tonight..

of course i didnt think i can rely on 1 CSR for info.. so i tried calling again before they closed at 7PM.. This time the CSR said some of the orders have been shipped out but they dont know which ones. She said they will ship out according to the place you were in when you placed your pre-order. If you receive a tracking from them, your the lucky ones that will get it tomorrow.. She also slipped out that, 48,000 pre-orders were taken for the HTC one.. dunno if that's just the Dev edition or every edition combined..

hopefully either one of these CSR is right.. i ordered mine 15 minutes after pre-order began so hopefully i will get something..

Hope you are right... but there is one thing i'm doubtful of... when people called today and asked to cancel and they had n problem canceling the order, that wouldn't be so easy if the phone has already shipped. So i'm doubting they have shipped, otherwise they would tell everyone sorry, already shipped, now you would have to return item.

And honestly, no matter how much I want the developer edition which i ordered... i rather get a "lesser" phone with no hassle, then the dev from jerks. It's not pride, its courtesy from someone i'm dishing quite a bit of cash to.

This is somewhat consistent with what the rep. told me when I called. I am not really in a hurry as my Nexus 4 is working well. My only hope with this HTC One is for USB OTG to work with DSLR controller. I am looking to use the phone as an external monitor for my Canon DSLRs instead of having to buy an external monitor If it does not work with DSLR controler, S4 I'll buy

Yeah, LetsTalk gets a few extra days out of me because I ordered for the second wave, but even still, if I don't have a ship confirmation by April 23, I'm going to call around to local T-Mobile stores to see if anyone will sell me a T-Mobile version off contract, and if so, I'll cancel the LetsTalk order.

Actually, I just realized they have until the 24th to get me a tracking number, since I'm out of town until the 24th.

Well my order status changed. It went from backordered/preordered with availability of the 18th to backordered/backordered with availability of "unknown". At least they're being honest now.

I'm Glad I canceled my preorder for the unlocked one. After ordering, I remembered that I've had multiple issues with letstalk in the past from shipments not being sent out when they should, to return issues, to mystery billings from them. As soon as I remembered, I called to cancel. I'll walk in ATT in a couple hours and buy full retail if I'm impressed with the display unit.

LOL THIS!!!! I am truly worried that all the crisis hotlines will be overloaded tonight when people do not have the ONE in hand. I'm 50 and this exact thought has been going through my head for a few days.
