I noticed it this morning. I've done a soft reset, a hard reset. It just keeps coming back. I read somewhere that this was linked to an update possibly, but when i go to the "Check for Update" option in settings nothing happens.

It doesn't seem to be affecting anything else on the phone.

I'm on AT&T by the way.

Just leave it, it'll go away on it's own. Patch day for the HTC devices brings that icon out.. once you've downloaded the update, it'll patch and go away.

Ahh interesting. It was the 4.4.4 update from AT&T finally releasing. Wonder why it took so long this time. I've had previous updates on my M8 and i guess i don't remember seeing the Device Manager notification.

Thanks. It got installed and it went away.

After a few hours i went back to the "check for updates" in the settings menu and it said "continue update" instead of "check for update"

Clicked that and it started the installation.

Update from AT&T was 1.6gb and it requires wifi+mobile data turned on. It will only use wifi and reserve mobile data as a backup.

Remember to turn both wifi and mobile data before you can proceed to the download

If you're like me and are happy with your current version (don't want to update), you can turn off the notification.

Setting > Apps > All > HTC DM > uncheck "Show notifications"

Never goes away, never downloads an update. I force close it and am looking at other phones, Im tired of it.

I've just done the update and the pop up still keeps on coming and everytime I press close it comes back. I'm so annoyed rn.
