Hi guys,

I just got the LG G2 two days ago and I noticed it restarts itself almost every time I slide and unlock the device. Is it possible to solve this issue?

Thanks!

Hello Raz,

Yes, if the factory reset does not work you would need to contact your carrier. It is definitely a software issue. Be sure to back your phone up [if it will let you] before you do so as you will lose everything on it. If you cannot get through the menu to do the reset, you can call our support line at 1-800-793-8896 to have them walk you through the factory reset with the hard buttons [if available].

Hope this helps,
^CL

Same with me. Factory reset with no apps fixed mine. Has not rebooted in a week. May have been battery app I installed right before.

I noticed that if you used some kind of app restore function to mass-move your old apps to your new phone, some apps wouldn't tell you they aren't compatible and install. That's what caused the issue for me, it's probably common sense not to do this but I wasn't thinking -_-

Good point, and IMO it's not worth the bloat because inevitably you also end up bring over a bunch of apps you never really use. I just got mine yesterday and after getting it unboxed and charged up I just mentally reviewed the apps I'd used in the last week and installed those. It's funny to look at my prior phone and realize how many useless apps I still had on it.

I found that I would have this problem if I used the gmail widget on one of the lock screens. As soon I removed the gmail widget, the restarts stopped when unlocking.

It seems to be related to GMail 4.6 - I was getting the same random reboots whether or not I had the widget enabled, but after going to Settings > Applications and uninstalling all GMail updates, I've been able to keep the app enabled on the lock screen with no reboots. Hope 4.6 gets fixed soon - this seems to be happening to a LOT of G2 users.

I just got the lg g2, and today got 5 random reboots. I did have the gmail widget on my lock screen. the gmail add says it is version 4.7.2. Does anyone else's still have this issue?

Just got the LG g2, on day 5 now. After reading posts on the rebooting issue, and wiping the memory, I only solved the issue when i uninstalled the gmail widget. The rebooting issue immediately stopped. To test the hypothesis that this was the cause, i reinstalled the gmail widget and within 60 seconds of locking and then unlocking the screen the rebooting error returned.

Yes - I have the same issue of re-booting. I have GMail 4.7.2 and I have a Gmail widget on the lock screen. Mine reboots about once a day so far - usually when I try and type in my PIN. I also had one complete factory reset take place which wiped everything. (This was despite having installed all sorts of theft protection software from AVAST that assured my that my phone was all locked down!)
As my phone is only 2 weeks old I'm going to return it and try again rather than getting out of the exchange period and discovering my phone is getting worse

same here D802
mine reboots when I try to start any app
It hangs for about 1-2 seconds and then restarts
Dont know if this happens after unlocking because i only have knock to unlock enabled
also i used it fast so couldnt get if it is unlocking or the app that am trying
sometimes watsapp, call etc these cause restart
but yes it never occurred once i am in the menu of apps

Quick update to my issue. I deleted the Gmail widget that was on my lock screen, and the phone has not rebooted since - which was 2 weeks ago....
