Did anyone keep their phone?

I'm also a phoneaholic just ordered a white one also, while texting this with my black one ha.

I own the Essential phone. I also sell pretty much every device on the market as I work in the mobile industry. I got a chance to test the Pixel 2. Side by side with my Essential, I personally definitely prefer the Essential phones display and build.
That's good to hear since I canceled my 2 XL pre-order and went back to the PH-1. No regrets so far.

I just bought the white version because my black one was lonely. No jacked up comments please. I know I have issues. I'm a phone hoe.......
You and me both, except I've gone black > white > white + black. One or the other might get returned, or I'll keep both just to be a jerk. :p

At $499 you can have both colors for almost the same price as a 128gb Pixel XL or Note 8.

No doubt. My white one was dirt cheap but I'm definitely grabbing a black one at that price.

Edit: Make that $299 for us early adopters. LOL :D

I switched to the Pixel 2 (Small one) and am happy I switched. I couldn't deal with the essential being so heavy making it unusable for one hand.

I was an early adopter. Just ordered a new white PH-1 from Amazon. Going to use the $200 credit towards the 360 camera or, if they release one, another accessory.

I have a phone addiction problem... Pixel XL 2 supposed to be here today as well. Lol

You buying a white one? I don't understand the code... Basically we could get a second for for $299?
If you bought an essential phone before October 22 and have not returned it, you are eligible to submit your details to receive a $200 off coupon which you can use to purchase a new phone or accessories from essential. So yes you can get another phone for $299 if they approve your submission and give you a code.

Has anyone gotten their codes? I registered but still haven't heard back.
I emailed support last night to try getting status on my first submission. Their response this morning was that it would be "within 15 days" if I'm eligible. I suspect they're checking each and every one since $299 is probably BOM cost on the device and it's in their best interest to be thorough. Expect to wait a while as @bhatech mentioned above.

I'm submitting a second one this afternoon unless someone generously drops an unused code on my lap sooner. ;)

My guess is that they’ll probably wait the 15 days so that someone can’t do what we were talking about possibly doing, get the code, order at $299 and return our current one.

Yeah that could be also, they may wait till the 15th day to minimize those scenarios as much as possible.

Even if we're stuck at $499, I still think this phone is worth it. At $299 it's an absolute steal. I'd buy two at that price just to have a self-funded insurance policy.

In the off chance I get lucky on my second code submission, I'll keep my latest phone sealed in the box until the last minute. Edit: Scratch that... gave in and opened it.

Build quality is better on this one versus my first from the initial shipment. Looks like they've corrected any QA issues in production. The camera and flash lenses now sit slightly below the ceramic. The edges seem matched better to the display and back. No problem with the speaker grille mesh, either.

My best buy white order which I got at $599 will be delivering this week. My goal is to keep it sealed since I already have the one from Amazon. If I get the code then I'll buy it for $299 and return both Amazon one and unopened best buy one. If they reject the code I'll return the Amazon one and go to Best buy to have them refund me for the price correction at $499. It's just the waiting game for now

if anyone has a code they are not going to use, I'd be interested in trying out a PH-1.

Doesn't it seem kind of crappy that you have to had kept the phone? I sold mine on Craigslist so hopefully the guy I sold it to gets the coupon but for original purchasers it seems silly. Why would they buy a second phone? I wish essential would offer a $200 refund
