Did I find an app that may actually extend battery life?

Why do you say configured? Sleep mode on the Rezound should not block incoming calls if enabled . It's in the Rezound owners manual.

Absolutely it is enabled. Just was curious as to whether airplane and sleep were the same, with sleep letting communications through. The phone just finished a 25 hour run with light to mod usage with JD on extreme. If this works it is just one less app running.

Ummm...manual???

I assumed you weren't getting calls in sleep mode since you mentioned it being like airplane mode I bookmarked that webpage a long time ago b/c it had the Rezounds Owners Maual in .pdf format on it. I used the link here to have you read what sleep mode should/should not do. I'm not sure what happened, I haven't visited that page in quite awhile, but they appear to have pulled it offline or moved it somewhere else. Oh, well

I just got a Rezound today, haven't rooted it yet, but probably will soon. I did a few tests of high, moderate and low app/internet/screen-on usage with my Incredible using JD as well as without it, and objectively I tended to get about 2 or 3 more hours of battery life with JD on. However, judging from what I see in the posts, the OS might be good enough on the phone for me to be fine without it. Thanks for the words of wisdom, twolastnames.

Before you root, you may want to wait a week or two, see how the official leak goes. You can install the leak without root, being that it is official... sort of, hence the wait. It is pretty awesome for battery life so far (day 1), with any luck, it will just get better. The reason for waiting is your bootloader has to be locked to run it, so if you root and do all that, then decide you want to try the new leak, you have to pretty much undo and redo everything.
