Did T-Mobile Forget Something?

My wife and I both have matching G2s. Mine is rooted and hers is stock. We both decided to add additional security to our phones to keep our 2 year old from sending "adklkcjhda" themed texts to our friends. She chose a password and I went with a pin. I mistyped the pin (twice) upon creation and now, short of hard resetting the phone, I have no way in. I have my gmail account/password from when we set up the phones, but it seems that everything I've read about entering the pin incorrectly 20 times and then being given the option to unlock the phone with your gmail credentials doesn't apply to the G2.

I tried it on her stock phone by typing in a wrong password 30 times and didn't get the option on hers either, so I don't think it's because I'm on a different ROM.

How do I get to the "Enter Your Gmail Username/Password" screen on my G2?

Was this feature not incorporated into the G2?

UPDATE: My wife changed hers from a password lock to a pattern lock. After 5 attempts, the "Forgot Pattern" button appears in the lower right. This option simply doesn't exist for password or pin protection. Bummer.
Much appreciated,

Tobias

This is interesting... I've never used a pattern lock, though I would imagine there has to be a bypass somewhere... especially with root.

Thanks for the heads up.

Phone: T-Mobile G2/Vision Rooted (Gfree'd)
Rom: Latest Cyanogen
Recovery: CWM
Radio: 26.13.04.19

Boot your phone in recovery and back up. Then factory reset and then restart phone. There's no password . Then boot in recovery and load recovery image. Phone starts with no password
