Did you change from Sprint sim to T-Mobile sim?

Who here has changed? How is it working for you? Do you have better service or worse? Is your phone locked or unlocked? Does it really make a difference?

Maybe post this in the carrier discussion forum to get better visibility from those using phones other than Sammy Notes.

I can't directly answer your question, but I recently moved to a TMo MVNO and have some observations. I've noticed at times that my phone is using Sprint bands as well as the traditional TMo bands. I had TMobile a couple years ago and in some of the then dead spots, I've noticed that there is now good service because it's using a Sprint band. So it appears that TMo sims are now utilizing Sprint frequencies. I obviously have no idea if this is working in reverse. You can install a signal/frequency app to see what band your phone is connecting to. I'm using SignalCheck. If you are connecting to TMo band 71, then it's probably as good as you can get. That's their low frequency band and it's a total game changer for their coverage.

I tried and went back to my Sprint sim on my previous phone (OnePlus 8), because I was having a problem receiving text messages from my wife sometimes -- BAD THING LOL! When I got my S21, it came with a Sprint sim installed, but also a T-Mobile sim in the box. I decided to try the T-Mobile sim, and so far there have been no issues. Overall there should be little diffence, as either one should be able to access both networks and prefer T-Mobile towers over Sprint towers.

A Sprint sim will access both networks a T-Mobile sim will only access T-Mobile network. If you have a Sprint sim installed leave it once you put the T-Mobile one in there is no going back. I could go into more detail but I am certain of this girlfriends brother is a senior engineer at Sprint / T-Mobile.

That's not entirely accurate. I should have specified that I was talking about TNX (T-Mobile Network Experience), not moving all of your lines to an actual T-Mobile account(the OP didn't specify either, so I just assumed TNX for some reason). Both use a T-Mobile sim, but you can absolutely move back to a Sprint sim from TNX, which is what I did. And I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I'm quite sure TNX will connect to Sprint towers if there is no T-Mobile tower available. Places like that really do exist.

Correct it is only a matter of time Sprint will be officially gone it's looking like sometime in 2022. I am 100% certain if you put a T-Mobile sim in and activate it when you try to go back to a Sprint Sim even though it shows Sprint as the carrier you will only have access to the T-Mobile network. In some cases you might not even be able to activate the Sprint sim once you use T-Mobile.

Not going back at this point. Would change carriers first
