Did you guys get the insurance?

never had insurance on any of my phones, luckily never needed it. Maybe if it was only a few bucks a month but when they add in about 100.00 it's just not worth it to me.

I have to pay $7.99 a month for mine. I would say it is worth it because you never know what can happen to your DX...and I want to make sure my almost $600 (retail) phone is well protected...

8.00 a month, plus 100 bucks if you need a replacement.

My deductible is $70... i've gotten insurance on all my phonessince one of my old flip phones was washed and i couldn't get a replacement b/c it's so expensive...you never know what can happen!

This is the first phone I got it on. Too nice and too expensive to not get it :)

What insurance? Because VZW and Asurion are both 90$.

The way I look at it is that, let's say 10 months down the road, I damage the phone, insurance will replace it. My total cost is $8/month X 10 = $80 + $90/deduct = $170. That's way cheaper than the $500+ for a new DX.

If it's damaged after 1 year, then I'll just get a new phone and re-up for another 2-years. In which case, I gave up $96 for a year's worth of peace of mind.

I know I used it once on my Storm 1 when some of the physical buttons stopped working and they exchanged it on the spot with no hassle, so that was well worth it IMO. Took it again on the DX based on that experience.

Yeah I believe the phones categorized under 3g phones(EnV3, Touch, standard flip phones, etc) are either $59 or $69. But the deductible for smartphones is definitely $89.

I exchanged my storm for similar issues and I never paid for any insurance. always covered by vzw customer service.

Such a big screen and such an expensive if something did happen, it was a no-brainer for me.

It might be worth noting that I have a toddler girl who loves things with shiny screens (she's already an expert at using my iPod touch when she manages to get her hands on it) so that influenced my decision quite a bit... ;)

Ever since I got my first smartphone, I've always had insurance. These phones are expensive to have and expensive to replace if anything happens to them that can't be covered by the warranty. Sure it sucks to pay $8/month and then $90 for a deductible but it's a hell of a lot better than paying full retail for a new phone.

I've never had to get a phone replaced or fixed but I can never be too sure. I can afford the insurance so I'll keep it just in case.

I've never had insurance, or problems, on previous phones, but I added insurance on my X for the same reasons given by others. My wife definitely had to get insurance on her X. She has a very physical job and has a history of breaking her phones/Blackberries.

Not worth it to me. Thats why I have a good case, screen protector, and never use it near water or liquids. Plus its never left in an unsecure place.

I hear you deadlift. I do all that, but you just never know. I almost dropped my Incredible off the side of a ferry going from Boston to Cape Cod. I almost crapped my pants.
