Did you jumpship yet?

I just want a phone with a camera that doesn't hang constantly. Switching from front to rear often takes 10+ seconds, launching the camera takes forever, switching to wide angle takes a long time. Even through factory resets. It was the same on the V10. I love the picture quality, and the removable battery is a huge issue for me, but I don't know if I can go another year like this. I hate Samsung, but I'm going to look really hard at the Note 8. If it or the V30 has that stupid 2:1 aspect ratio, though, they're dead to me.

10 seconds is a very long time. I've never seen that behavior.

I just switched over to the S8 plus but still have my V20 as a back up. I may give it to my husband.

I thought it might be because of my SD card, but the behavior persists without it. As I said, I had the same issue with the V10 (same card, which is why I suspected it).

I agree with you on the camera, it's not the best. But everything else about the V20 makes up for it. I still personally think the V20 takes better pictures than the Galaxy S7. There are workarounds to speed things up though.

I'd be interested in workarounds. I have not found anything that helps, yet. I agree that the camera is fantastic. It's just slow.

Still slow, even with card removed. I recently deleted the 8,000+ photos on the card, and nothing changed, either.

There isn't a phone out right now that compares to the V20. They all fall short one way or another. Fingers crossed for a water resistant V30. Even if it means losing the ability to swap batteries. Otherwise, may be keeping the V20 for a very long time.

With the $300 off deal at BB on the VZW S8+ I'd love to buy one to alternate with my V20 but I would always need the V20 for work (Excel easier on flat wide screen) & going out to eat at our fav restaurant (a tv at every both but most remotes missing need ir blaster). Be nice to throw on an extra line but I can't justify the expense. House needs work.

I keeping the V20 at least until the end of the year. The S8 Active is speaking to me, depending on how much it costs when it launches, but that means I'll be waiting until next year for Android O. V30 seems like a decent option, but with a good chance the removable battery is going away, I don't see any reason to yet that over the Pixel 2 XL. Also considering OP5 for the price.

I wish I had better unlocked options but when you're on Big Red your
unlocked options are limited and even the limited ones are not fully functional.

I'm kind of in the same boat, but I'm planning on leaving Verizon after paying off mine and my girlfriend's V20 later this year. Service just hasn't been exceptional so we'll be jumping ship to AT&T.

TMobile prepaid deal: single line is $50 with unlimited talk/text and 10GB data

I actually just made the jump to the V20 from the priv, and man I am loving this phone, I don't think I'll ever want to get rid of this, best phone I've had this far

You're in luck

I left T-Mobile a year ago because the network wasn't cutting it for me. I have an unlocked phone so maybe I'll get a pre-paid SIM and see if they've gotten better. Otherwise, my best bet is AT&T. I would do Cricket, but my girlfriend had problems with calls while on Cricket and she needs her phone for work.

Anything but verizon just isn't an option here in the CO mountains. even if other carriers did get decent service around here, until there is a phone with a good DAC and ir blaster, I don't see myself changing phones anytime soon

Cricket is owned by AT&T so the network coverage should be the same. However, since it's a discount carrier, LTE speeds will be much slower and regular AT&T customers will get priority. T-Mobile has always been great with consistently fast speeds and no throttling. Plus music streaming doesn't count towards your data and mobile hotspot is always included. T-Mobile pre-paid is the same as post-paid, just cheaper however you can't get exclusive discounts on phones and other promotions. Metro PCS is owned by T-Mobile and their speeds are throttled. The only issue is in remote areas, I usually don't get connection. I think Verizon is the only one with that type of coverage.
