Dinc2 tips, tricks, info

got a Dinc2 replacement for smashed Dinc. It will be here Monday. Im wondering if anyone has any tips tricks or info for me. what is the current OS version? has any info been released for future updates? Does it have Sense 2.0 or 2.1? if 2.0 has it ever been rumored for 2.1? if 2.0 does it have sense.com capability? I would love Sense.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i used it on Dinc with some sense 3.0 ROMs. does Skype video work without root? does google video chat work without root? Any other tips? I have to say i am worried about reception. i live in remote mountainous area where signal is spotty as you drive around. the Dinc was decent but not as good as BB8330. I hope it will suffice. If you get a new phone from insurance that is different from original, can you request different phone if replacement has glaring problems? TIA

also, i know alot of the OS and Sense features can be addressed with Root and ROM but, im looking for stock out of the box answers. Im wanting to run it stock for a bit and not mess around with it for a little bit.

Sense 2.1 with no sense.com access or integration. Don't use video chat so I don't know of those work. Reception - you may have some issues there. I do not know what the signal is like on the original incredible, but the dinc2 has 15-20dbm lower than my Droid X or Droid 1. Where I live it works fine, although 3g can be a bit slow when the signal is low, but I have yet to miss a call, but it is definitely lower than the motos.

As far as insurance replacing it with a different model if the reception causes you issues, they may do it for you with some fighting. Or Verizon might swap the insurance replacement with a refurb of another device if you can't get anywhere with Asurion.

Thanks for nothing!!!! i have searched pages deep and did not find clear concise answers to anything. Found AC review did not make reference of Sense version, not mention it is old.

PS. i asked 6 questions.

ABQNM answered the other questions, but for the video chat, the included Skype Mobile won't do it, but the full market Skype supposedly will. The included Google Talk won't either, but there are versions you can sideload which, again, supposedly will, although I didn't have success getting them to work unless I was on a 2.3.4 ROM. Sans root, Skype is probably your best bet.

As for signal strength, it'll probably be the same as your Inc 1. There's no denying, the antennae is pretty week, although like ABQNM, the phone doesn't seem to drop calls even with signals in the -90 to -100 range.

Aside from that, the phone is awesome.

i FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow what a difference between 1 and 2! Quick and smooth as silk!!! FYI. i downloaded Skype from market video chat is flawless!! picture quality is 10 times better than i imagined. i am bone stock. i love it.
