Discount for Note 7 owners

I'll tell you what......Samsung doesn't owe us anything except a better and safe phone. But if they asked me if I wanted anything for the note7 mess......i would say just give me my blue color and I'm good lol. #obsessedwithblue

I loved that phone so much. Broke my heart turning the second one in, especially since I never had any trouble with either of them. But I am pretty sure the FE version won't work on Verizon or I suspect any US carrier. I thought about it. But importing it would also be really expensive. Time to let it go i guess and look forward to the Note 8, which I am. But not without a pang.

The discount is only in South Korea and only for those who financed their Note 7 and returned them for an S7 or S7 Edge. What they are doing is allowing those customers to "trade in" their S7 to pick up the Note 8 and they won't have to worry about the remaining balance due on their S7, which I guess would technically be like $300-$400 off.

It has bothered me from day 1 that Samsung gave Korea a sweet deal back last year. I contacted Samsung about it and they said they were sorry that I was unhappy with their regional offers. I think this is a joke. They cater to Korea with special phone specs (usually higher ram) and different offers. I bet they don't even ackowledge anything, even though they should give Note 7 users a chance to upgrade for free.

I am one of the few who didn't blame Sammy for my phone issues. My local Sprint store is HORRID. Stood in line for over an hour... just to be told they didnt have a SIM for my Note 5. They made me drive across town to best buy 3 different times... and by the end of it, they found out that note sims are the same as the next S.. so 2017 note 8 will have the same sim as S9.. I was soo peeved it was a 3 hour process.. and they didnt once apologize or offer anything for the money I wasted in best buy for crap that the store had..

Most of the people in Korea buy the phone direct from Samsung. Most of the people in the US buy directly from their carriers. One major reason for regional offers like that. You're not technically Samsung's customer, you're the end user.

Yeah that store is just dumb. It was either a micro or a nano. Only two choices. Really obvious to figure out which by simply opening the Sim tray and looking.

Why do the Asian markets like China, Korea, Japan get better specs and higher RAM on their devices than North America and Europe? What purpose does it serve giving us the neutered phones?

I'd say from S8 sales most are pretty good with Samsung still. Hell even a good amount of faithful Note owners are here and saying they're getting the 8.
Myself included. Well about 95% sure
