Discussion on the appeal of iOS vs Android

iOs is so boxed, thats why I dont like it. Android is too open for the average user imo, so a good middleway has to be found. I like BlackBerry os

If you like the functionality of an Android and the style of the iPhone line I would suggest the HTC a9.It is practically built to grab people who are thinking of getting and iPhone.

Was reading a report on MSN News from Tech Insider that listed their top 9 big screen phones.

1. iPhone 6S+
2. Note 5
3. S6 Edge+
4. Nexus 6P
5. iPhone 6+
6. OnePlus 2
7. G4
8. Moto X Pure
9. Blckberry Priv

Of course no one has to agree with this list.

Easy answer with apple your hands are tied with what you can do with customising you pay a lot of cash it's your device Android Lets you do what you want tweaking customising digging deep into the system, apple restrict you in so many ways, I mean you can't even change the battery, apple own you you don't own the device it's an Apple's dictatorship, we are free with Android it's a movement

Leaving Android and going back to Iphone...:3

You might have come across some of my threads complaining about the LGG4C. About how there was not enough storage, how the battery charging and usage was rubbish, and worst of all, how the phone as a whole was unresponsive, lagged, froze multiple times and was darn right awful..well I had enough of it. The solution was simple, pay up the rest of the contract (hardest decision) and get an Iphone 6.

It is with regret that I must say goodbye and good luck not only to the LGG4 community but the Android community as a whole. The Android community felt like a (big) family, with helpful forums, good information, welcoming and kind people, and a great usable website to navigate around for help and tips. Maybe I had chosen the wrong phone (indeed), maybe I should have never changed from Iphone to Android, but the whole experience of using the LGG4C has put me off ever going back to any Android phones. Maybe I am going to miss out on a lot of great Android phones, that are out now and for the future, but now I will be sticking with my Iphone 6. I just thought I would write this goodbye message and thank everyone for not only helping me with my introduction to the Android community when I first got the phone, but also with answers for my threads, and also keeping up with me about my constant moaning of the phone itself :p.

I bid you all a fun and enjoyable experience with your Android phones, whatever if may be that you do with them.

Goodbye :) !

P.S Sorry if the message was unnecessary and a little cringey :D

Re: Leaving Android and going back to Iphone...:3

No worries, glad you found what you wanted. Buy what you like, love what you bought :) Good luck over there.

Re: Leaving Android and going back to Iphone...:3

The one thing I dont like about the Android is the poor battery life otherwise I'm sticking with it. :p

Re: Leaving Android and going back to Iphone...:3

I don't think anyone here can argue that Android is not for everyone. Although some may argue the reasons for your decision, (ie LG G4 problems). I don't think you would of bought out your contract just because, so obviously you took the move seriously.

I have used them all and I recommend iOS/Apple to some people I know, because I don't think they would be happy with Android. Myself, I don't love Android, I like it a lot for what it is. For me it serves a vital function as a tool for my business that no other OS can. If I could make Windows Phone work the same way, that is where I would be.

Congrats on your new iPhone. Wish you the best

It's because iPhone never gets hanged up & it got fabulous features as compared to any other handset.

I'd have to disagree. I ran into bugs where it hung up or simply wouldn't let me out of an app (such as my phone app) without a reboot.

I like the iPhone because it just works. It delivers on what is asked of it perfectly one time, every time, and it's just darn simple to use.
I like Android phones (and would prefer to have one over an iPhone) because I can do more. I can make it an extension of me, my personality, and productivity traits at an infinitely better measure than the iPhone. Plus, the hardware extensibility (At least on my Note 3 here) simply cannot be beat.

That said, I am jealous of iPhone users, especially when they have killer phone accessories and killer apps (emphasis on killer apps.) Snapchat, Vine, Instagram, VSCO, and the timelapse/hyperlapse apps, all produce BETTER QUALITY photos and videos that make 100% use of the iPhone hard-and-soft-ware. On all those services, even if my Note 3, LG G2, and G Pro 2 produce comparable-to-better photos than the new iPhones, they are almost ALWAYS a pixelated, muddy, nearly unusable MESS compared to iPhone images. I almost am embarrassed of using the services because most of my friends who are on such services use iPhones, and they almost always have the clearer, brighter, and just share-worthy photos. I should know, I had a friend and she shoots with an iPhone 6, and me a Note 3. Sure, there's been some headway, like when Instagram enabled much larger photo uploading across iOS and Android, but HD video uploading for Vine is still iOS only, and it makes the Android version neigh unusable in that regard. Also, iOS FIRST and iOS ONLY apps and games.

My wife has an iPhone 6s, I have a galaxy edge +, My phone takes better photos, is easier to type on, doesn't get hung up like hers, has better battery life and has a quick charge and wireless charging. She had marginally more apps, and gets updates immediately.

Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

In no way am I saying I despise the iPhone, I love the build quality, the user friendliness, simplicity and speed of use of the iPhone, but why do all my classmates have one?

9/10 of my classmates have an iPhone, and I'm the 'odd one out' for owning an andriod device, the Galaxy S6.

But what makes people buy an overpriced device just because everyone else has the exact same device? I mean a 16GB device for twice the pricr as an Andriod flagship that matches it or is on par specs wise? I don't get it.

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

Because Apple's marketing department is staffed by a bunch of geniuses. They could sell ice to an Eskimo.

One word - STUPIDITY-remember, android fans have Steve Jobs to thank for making the biggest blunder in U. S. Corporate history by giving AT&T exclusive rights to the iPhone for to long a period of time thus giving android the time to flurrish. THANKS MR. JOBS

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

Because the iPhone is a status symbol, and if you don't have one, you're not living up to the status quo

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

I see 5 iPhones to every 1 Android. For some reason I just don't understand that there is some sort of status associated with one's phone. I asked our friend's teenager (19) why so many had the iPhone 4's & 5's...she said the small size and everyone else had one. I can count on one had the number of kids I see running around with large screen phones...maybe Android manufacturers should take note that many still like the smaller offerings.

In the end get what serves you best. I prefer Android because I can craft it to be mine. And believe it or not, the Android experience is more intuitive to me than the iPhone...maybe I'm strange but it is what it is. And I can say that I own every other Apple device; iMac, iPad, MacBook Pro, Apple TV, Apple extreme, Airport Express and a begrudgingly a PC only for a couple specific work programs. Apple's products just work nice, but I can't get into their phones. I'm also older too and don't have to deal with that peer thing.

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

It's the opposite around here. I see more Samsung Galaxy devices than anything else.

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

It's 2016. The status symbol thing no longer exists.

Re: Why does everyone I know have iPhones?

Almost all of my school have iphone.... i felt lonely using S5 at my school. But outside my school, android everywhere.

I can see rich peoples who wears fancy dresses/clothes uses iphone. (Especially moms and girls) While regular people uses android in my country.

I had bad experience with ios devices as my ipad 3,iphone 6+ lags af. So iphone is a sure nope!
