Yesterday I put an micro SD card from an old Lumia phone into my new E4. However, now I am unable to write or delete files from the card or format it. I've tried formatting the card while it's in the device. I've tried removing the card and formatting it in two different Windows PCs. There are definitely some Android files on the card now, so the phone was able to write to it at some point. I've tried formatting it using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and EaseUS partition tool.

Any tips on how to get the card working again? Thanks!

Re: Write protected SD card

Welcome to Android Central. There is a small slider on the side of the card, have you checked to see if that is set on? It is a write protect switch. If you put the card in a PC can you read what files are on it? With all the formatting whatever you may have destroyed it, don't know. If the switch is set off and you can't read the card with a PC then it's no good.

Re: Write protected SD card

Micro SD cards don't have the slider.

I can read all the files, I just can't add new ones or delete old ones.

Re: Write protected SD card

Flash media don't have security properties in Windows 7.

Or rather Fat32 media do not.

[edit]

I destroyed the card and bought myself a new one.
