My work involves lots of running around andwaiting time, so I use my phone a lot. Mostly Ebook reading, Messaging, Hotspotting and Internet Surfing. Previously I had a 2 years old S4, its battery could only last until noon, sometimes I had to charge it twice a day to keep it up until evening. During my day to day work, occasionally I can find a place to charge my phone, mostly I can't. So battery life is very essential to me. I have had a very high expectation on my new Nexus 6, but I have to say I am very dissapointed.
I got my new phone about 1 week ago, and I've been very careful to keep my phone clean and the running tasks as few as possible and the screen as dark as possible. However, averagely, it can only last 6 hours, during which about 30 mins's messaging, 1 hour's hotspotting(I surf internet using my laptop), 1 hour's Ebook reading, and about 30 min's internet surfing on the phone, the other standby. I go out at 8:30 in the morning and the battery dies out at about 3pm. Now I couldn't remember how my S4 performed 2 years ago, but I don't think I had this kind of frustration towards the battery life. That is to say, if my memory serves, S4 bests Nexus 6 in this aspect. And, if it can only last 6 hours now, I can't imagine what it will become 2 years later...
I am probably biased because of my high expectation so I'd like to ask everyone's opinion about Nexus6's battery performance, and of course, tips of saving battery power.
