DNA Firmware Update?

This may sound silly but with any Android phone I ever had I always did a factory reset after an ota. Perhaps worth a try for those w issues. Kinda monitoring this thread bc I'm debating whether to jump on the lowered prices of the DNA or wait for its successor. Don't wanna buy something problematic ;-)

I'm not too sure about other people's problems but other than the SIM card issue(which has largely disappeared for me since the last update) I haven't had any notable issues, and the only things I have to complain about are nuances. This phone was a great purchase and I like it much better than my galaxy s3 that I had.

You would think that since Verizon is so infamous with taking their sweet time to release any update, and that the traditional excuse has always been, "Well, Verizon thoroughly tests each update before release," that this shouldn't be happening. I guess the belief that Verizon takes so long to update out of benevolence and care for the user is just some marketing rhetoric, because clearly somebody jumped the gun on this update. Although I haven't been getting the traditional No Sim Card Error, I do very often get a "Preparing SIM card message," something that hasn't happened before. And WiFi has definitely been much more spotty.

Yeah, my wifi has been spotty as well as consuming more battery power than it did before during idle.

I have gotten the preparing SIM a few times, but my biggest issue is WiFi connectivity. I am literally watching my signal strength drop from 4 to 2, and then 0, and up to 3. It even loses connectivity at times and requires me to reconnect to the network. Granted, I don't have the best internet, but my husband doesn't have this issue on his phone.

GAH! I'm waiting for my upgrade date in July. I've had my eye on this phone for a while but, if they can't get this #^@!#$%^! SIM card issue fixed I don't know that I'm willing to take the chance on buying a phone with problems.

My phone froze up today while viewing the internet. Before I could try a hard reboot it powered itself off and restarted. I have only had this happen once before when I first got the phone, about two weeks after purchasing it.

Ditto. I was really itching to pull the trigger but reading this thread has made me doubt. Sounds like another day in vzw software update land. Guess there s always rooting..

As time passes since this update things are declining. My phone is going from excellent and enjoyable to a pain. Now I've noticed that my battery dies so fast. I haven't changed my usage. Typically is get through the better part of the day with about 60% left by 3pm. Now I'm lucky if that happens. I charge my phone and ten minutes after being off the charger I'm already in low 90's. I even turn radio off while in subway now which I never did before. I checked to detect what's running and may be causing it and I can't find anything. They need to send another patch asap. For me the release software was the best. The phone was a beast then.

On a side note, I've been getting the random preparing SIM card message, which I also didn't get before. I had an inkling and swtiched off global mode to cdma/LTE only and I've seen a marked improvement in overall performance. Data speeds have also increased. I live in NYC. Idk if it's a fluke but imma run it like this for a while and see...
