Do i need to do anything special for oem spen replacement to work right?

I lost the original spen somehow... i bought an oem replacement. But now my phone tells me the spen isnt attatched when it is In the slot and the phone doesnt vibrate or notify when i take it out or replace it. I recently just turned the spen notifications off. Is there a way to calibrate the phone to thr new pen?

Something's wrong (like maybe a defective pen). I have 2 Note 3s and 3 S Pens, and I can use any pen on either phone. There's no "pairing" or anything like that. (Using a loose pen when there's one attached to the phone sometimes makes the phone lose track, but that's not how the pen is supposed to be used, so I'm not complaining about it - I'm deliberately doing something I shouldn't do, and accepting the consequences.)

I'd bring it to the carrier and see what they say. They may just find a pen that works and replace yours - the phone's under warranty, and that includes the pen.
