Do I need to factory reset before accepting the update?

Just got the notification that the 4.4/KitKat update has downloaded. Is it ok to accept/install right on top of current system (stock, on T-Mobile) or is it better to do a factory reset first?

No need to do a reset if you are stock. If you want a fresh start, you can reset after the software has downloaded.

Just let it update over your existing software. That's what it's designed to do. You can do a factory reset after if you really want to, as noted above.
