Do Not Disturb / Silence question

I would like to silence my phone for specific hours (at night) each day automatically but still allow my "favorites" to contact me if needed.

I tried using the Do Not Disturb which does stop calls and texts, but doesn't quiet the whole phone (still get notification on calendars, etc)

I tried using silence, but you can't use that with your favorites list.

Any suggestions?

The do not disturb function can be customised so only favorites can wake you during set hours.

All other functions are silent you can set it between set hours.

It really does work

Well you could disable push notifications, that way you wouldn't receive a notification from a certain app.

Swipe the notification dashboard from the from the top, then below that you see 'notification settings'.
Or if you cannot find that you can go to settings > notifications > then you have the option to disable all notifications. On the upper right corner you can click on advanced to show the apps silently etc.
