Do you as a droid user feel your phone is superior to the iPhone?

Yes, I think the Droid is superior especially being on VZ. I own both the iPhone and the Droid and If I had to own just one of these, it would be the Droid.

It's by far the best phone I've ever had. Besides the fact that the Verizon network is so much better than AT&T's the browser speed is what sold me. I have a few problems in that when I'm listening to music and disconnet the headphones I can't get reception when I'm talking on the phone. I have to either put on the bluetooth or re-insert the bose headphones. Otherwise i then have to reset by removing the battery. this gets annoying but I'm sure it'll get worked out. Overall , I'm very satisfied

After using many phones over the past few years, the storm being the latest before switching to the Droid. I think Droid is better for all around use, business and pleasure. Although to be fair, I think the iPhone is better for non-business usage and the Blackberry might be slightly better for pure business because of their email handling. With that said, I love the Droid with the Android OS and its flexibility, and the opportunity for all the new growth in software with the Android OS as opposed to Apple and BB.

I was never a iphone crazy person nor did I own one. The Droid is the first smartphone I have ever owned and I am super impressed. I think all other phones menu systems are clunky and don't flow nearly as well like they do on the Droid. I know I am not using this phone to it's full potential. But everyday I learn something new and the phone keeps amazing me. But also I owe thanks to the people here. Very happy to be a Droid owner.

Just like title says. Post your comments here. I honestly feel that my phone is superior to the iPhone. Not because of what droid does (haha), but because the apple os for the iphone is the same, with just a few added features. But, the droid has the android os, which I feel is the next best thing, especially with google taking care of their consumers. Just post your comments and let everyone know how you feel. Let the DROID invasion begin!!!

I do. The Droid overall offers a expansive experience far superior to the standard iPhone Operating System. One feature including multitasking. I also have a question about your post.

but because the apple os for the iphone is the same, with just a few added features.!

Do you mean you think the iPhone OS is OSX with added features?

I think the Droid is a nice second rite now. As far as hardware goes... its the best fone on the market (til the Nexus One). But the OS is lacking in a few areas. The camera still cant take a good pic to save ur life and there is still no multitouch. The Droid and Android in general just need a lil polishing and it both the phone and the OS coudl definitely be best on the market hands down

I definitely feel it is better!

And here's why... I think that Android itself is much more open, has way more potential and widespread capabilities over the iPhone. With the Droid, I think the hardware combined with Android is the first REAL glimpse at what Google is on to! The future of Android and Google Chrome OS is definitely going to be groundbreaking!

Ur comparing potiential to actual... I completely agree that the Droid and Android in general CAN be better. But they arent there yet. I would say the Droid is somewhere inbetween the first iPhone and the iPhone 3G as far as its actual standing. Its a solid software update away from being the best OS/phone on the market

Yes... What good is a phone if you are unable to make calls? Last night I had to let my Iphone fanboys wife use my Droid to call her family because her Iphone failed to place a call, I tried not to laugh.

omg yes!! a bunch of my buddies have iphones and the DROID feels a lot more solid to me. you cant beat widgets and all the customization that is possible with the phone. granted the apps not be as good as iphone apps yet but with the available emulators makes it more than what i need when it comes to games. but all in all the phone is amazing..i came from a 9530 bb storm and my god the difference is crazy..so obviously i feel the DROID abd eris are the best thibg that has happened to verizon!

Yes I believe the droid is better than the iPhones for one it has both the keyboard and virtural keyboard which helps it reach both groups who prefer and real keyboard and those who like onscreen. Also for me all the main apps that I wanted from the iPhone except tweetdeck are on the droid. Everything else the droid either matches or betters vs. the iPhone ie. 5 mp camera with flash, customization with no need to jailbreaking/rooting out the box, and multi-tasking(it could be better). There's more but you get the point the droid is a beast to be reckoned with and is def the better looking younger brother getting all the attention for now.

I love my droid, but no phone will be superior to the iPhone. Just can't and won't happen

Ever eh? Doesn't work like that I'm afraid. Something better will be invented just as when the iPhone first came out nobody saw that coming.

Heres what I am thinking. Android is an operating system, not a phone. They are using this operating system on many different branded hardware, where as there is only one version of hardware and software of the iPhone. It is so easy to make changes to the phones when there is only one phone to worry about. Also, they only have one screen size to make apps for, which is why the apps will always be superior. Developers can worry about one phone and operating system, and then when the operating system is updated, you don't have to do multiple updates to the apps, just one that will work for the released OS. It is just a much better operation that is being run.

I guess I shouldn't say never, but until someone else comes out with hardware that is a final revision for years to come as well as their own software only used by that phone, we won't see an iPhone killer. Apple is very smart for working like this.

The droid is a great phone, but so are the other phones that run the android operating system. The iPhone will outsell any one of the single android devices because since there is a variety of them, sales will be more spread out between the phones whereas if you want an iPhone, you have one model to buy.

Sorry for the long write up and if it doesn't make a ton of sense I apologize since I am trying to get this up quick as I am pretty busy today. Also, this is my opinion and I am by no means an expert, but I do like my phones haha. Let me know your thoughts!

I can understand that. And yah, the iPhone will probably have a stronger base than any single Android phone (at least in the near future), but phones based on Android will outnumber the iPhone much like Blackberry's do.

Different models, and Apple is very successful in implementing theirs, but I personally don't like the "we chose everything for you so you don't have to" approach. I like choice and ability to fiddle.

I love where phones are headed though, and appreciate Apple's help in that.

I had an iPhone 3g and really didn't like the OS. I thought it was limited and very buggy. Apparently it still is. I bought into the hype, lived with it for a year and got rid of it as I couldn't take it anymore. I really wish I had a little more patience and waited it out before taking that plunge. I did get my money back when I sold it though.

I consider my Droid superior for the obvious reasons already covered here: multitasking, freedom to customize it as I see fit, and the hardware itself. The screen alone is unbelievable and I cringe every time I look an iPhone's screen up close. I also love Android's UI and placement of menu items. I feel at home with it and wish I had made the change earlier.

The games are coming and the UI is constantly being improved so I have nothing to worry about there. The future is exciting for Android users, and I could care less what Apple comes out with next.

I agree android based phones will outnumber the iPhone since there will be many more phones on different carriers. I also love having different options as well, but as for ease of use in many categories, Apple has done a very good job and it is only going to make cell phones better. The android customization is awesome and will force other phones to have a version of the ability to customize if they want to compete which is great. I also love where phones are headed, and I hope both phones keep getting better, and I also hope BlackBerry steps it up with the S3!
