Do You feel screwed?? No LTE for many!!

have been on sprint for 10 years. I had the evo 4g on day one and have never had the chance to use 4g. Kinda buged me but not a big deal in the long run.
3g in my area holds its own and the phone service and customer support in the local stores make up for the lack of 4g. When to at@t for 3 months when the og iPhone came out and was treated like a number not a person so i got my service canceled and went back to sprint. had a htc phone ever sense... mogul, touch pro, touch pro 2, og evo, and now the new evo 4g lte.
so if you are pissed about a service that you never got to use go play with Verizon and see how much you like giving a kidney every month to pay a phone bill.

I wouldn't say that much. I switched from sprint because the 3g was so terrible I couldn't even use YouTube and wimax couldn't penetrate a wet paper bag. I liked sprint otherwise. With verizon I only pay 10 dollars more then what I used to. I mean that's not exactly breaking the bank for me. Lol

I will say this, being with Sprint since the original Evo came out.... 3G speeds are HORRIBLE on Sprint, Wimaxx was ok I would say anynwhere from 1MB-3MB at the most here in the Dallas area. I am giving Sprint another chance with this shiny new Evo and its LTE, yes I know it doesnt exist YET, but I will only have to wait a month for this to be activated once I receive my E4GLTE.

After that if it doesnt' live up to my standards, I will consider leaving them for someone else.

I'll have LTE whenever it goes live. I don't really need it, since I use WiFi at work and at home. But it'll be sweet to have regardless.

Ordered this phone last night. It'll be my first Android experience, coming from Blackberry 9650. I am excited:D

I would love it if LTE was live in my city now, but I can wait and be patient. I will pick up a no-contract Clear hotspot to use in the meantime for the rare occasions when I need 4G-Wimax service. In reflecting on my current use of Wimax on my E4GT, the only times I actually turned on Wimax was when I was using the hotspot to tether my laptop anyway.

Based on what I've read and heard in interviews with Sprint execs, I think they've learned their lesson from their semi-failed investment in Clear and why I also think they're pushing hard to get LTE done and rolled out as quickly as possible.

S4gru.com seems to be a pretty good site with lots of inside info on the LTE rollout.

I've got it made -- I have a VZW 4G LTE Mifi from work. So, I can use that and connect my phone to it, so essentially I can "roam" on VZW LTE when my new EVO 4G LTE arrives! Woo hoo!

Like others I don't see the reason so many are up in arms about LTE. I've read several forums about this issue and most people use WIFI anyway so what is the big deal? Being with Sprint almost 2 decades I know first hand at how bad the coverage can be sometimes and how bad the customer service has been. Both of which have become much better. I've now had worst experience in a Sprint store then on the phone with customer service. I just recently moved from Houston where yes I had 4G but hardly ever used it. I now work in DC where yes I still have 4G and hardly use it. I travel a lot and when I've been places where I don't have coverage most everyone else doesn't have coverage either.

Now let's stop with the idle threats of leaving Sprint to go somewhere else. If you were serious you would be gone by now. Yes Verizon has better celluar coverage right now and I have a lot of friends who like to throw that in my face but when we are talking and all have the same amount of bars on our phones I tend to show them my bill and the conversation is over.

In all do what you think is best for you but don't whine about coverage, the way a phone is designed or any other little petty thing. If it is that big of a deal then leave and let loyal customers enjoy their nicer phones and cheaper prices.

i know i'm not in the majority but i've had 4g service since day 1 on my OG Evo and to this day have only used it less than 10 times... i just dont need it

Even though i'm in an LTE city most likely IF I do get another phone through Sprint ill probably just buy it outright. I'm not going to continue another contract with them until they show me that they're doing some improvements to this network other than just talking about it. According to the maps they've done upgrades here already but my 3G speed doesn't tend to agree. And the whole wimax thing was just a debacle with not being able to use it inside. Luckily, I got in on a Verizon contract before they ditched unlimited data so I still have that line if I decide to just cancel Sprint. Probably wait and see how this LTE thing turns out before I decide because with the VZW line I get 3 bars of LTE inside. If I can't get that with Sprint I see no point in keeping them.

I am fine with it for now. There are only 2 areas here in Louisville that I can get Wimax. Once Sprint decided to go with LTE, it's like Wimax was halted here. Hopefully Louisville will get LTE sooner rather than later since we are a decent sized city.

I don't feel screwed at all. Having LTE was never a deciding factor on whether or not I would get this phone.

I wholly intend for this to be my next phone, even though I have no idea when I'll see LTE. Like many others, I use WIFI and 3G. LTE will be nice when I am able to finally use it, but I'll manage until then.

It's like 2010 all over again right? I picked up the original EVO 4G (two of them) during their launch and understood that WiMax would not be offered everywhere. I did not mind because like many here stated, we are usually connected to a wifi connection. When I was getting WiMax it was great but it was not a deal breaker not having WiMax.

I feel people should not worry too much about LTE. if LTE is a must, then I hope you live in the areas where it is live or maybe hit up Verizon or AT&T since they have a bigger foot print with LTE. I myself am excited about the new EVO and this phone may get be back on board with android.

I will buy this phone knowing fully that it won't have LTE because I rarely use WIMAX anyway...so I can give a rat's @ss about LTE...I can wait. I know there will be many on this Site that will buy this phone fully knowing that LTE is not on in their area and they will moan and groan within the first week or two about the phone...giving it half @ss reviews like Cnet.
