Do you have always on display on?

Tasker? You just need Tasker and the Secure Settings plugin and create a profile that turns on AOD when there's a notification.
Will it turn AOD on while on a wireless charger. I'm looking it over, I'll have to research this, it's definitely confusing for a old guy. Lol

Not sure. There's no option state for wireless charging, but there is an option for any form of charging, so it could probably work.

I ran across the below Android Central thread that links to a thread at reddit, where an individual, (Hans_Brickface), explains how he used Tasker to turn on the AOD when a notification arrived. He achieved this after he studied how to turn on the AOD when wireless charging. He then provided a link to that thread. It's like peeling off layers of an onion. :)

I have never used Tasker, but I guess I will investigate. (I really like your suggestion better. :D) I thought I'd post the link in case you want to check it out.

Thank you, I'll look at it after work.

Instead of turning AOD on when charging, have the screensaver turn on. If you install the google clock in addition to the Samsung one, you will get a Clock option. It has a setting to make it very dim for Night mode. I personally have Widget Screensaver installed. It allows me to use any widget as a screen saver. I like to have the time and the weather displayed. This opens the world to you with what you display on your phone screen when your phone is on a charger. The widget will slowly float around the screen to prevent any sort of burn-in.

One of the major things I miss about having a Samsung phone. With the Pixel, I have to put it face down or else my pitch dark room isn't pitch dark anymore at night. How hard is it? Just give us scheduling too! I miss. Sorry.
The Pixel's AOD doesn't change brightness? I mean the lowest brightness on the Samsung AOD is quite dim.
