do you still use your G3?

Bought it few months after release when my Moto couldn't cut it any longer. Paid full price as I wanted to keep unlimited data with Verizon

Don't plan on switching any time soon and will stay as my main phone for another 6 months minimum but probably much longer. Added 2 Anker batteries and a charger so I can swap out and continue charging which has really added life to it

One of the best phones I've ever had personally aside from it getting warm at times!!

I'm surprised mine is still running fine fine on lollipop, I'm not even that bothered about not having marshmallow yet.

I would of normally got upgraded by now but I'm keeping it for another year

I'm not sure there are any custom ROMs for the LG G3...are there? Not when I bought mine in January.

I would have hated this phone due to the limited internal RAM left after all the LG bloatware. Rooted however, I am very happy. Wish LG would make marshmallow available via OTA as I don't have a PC...just a chromebook.

The marshmallow OTA is available if you are in T-Mobile and I believe AT&T as well.

Yes, Marshmallow is available on AT&T on the G3, but not sure if one can get it with a rooted phone.
BTW, I was tempted to get the Samsung Galaxy S7 until I got Marshmallow on my G3. Enough improvement that I'm content to stick with the G3 for a while.

Yup... It is amazing how different is marshmallow from lollipop... It's like going from a buggy software to an optimized one. Very satisfied with marshmallow.

I'm on the Cricket system... :(
Just wondering... If your phone is not locked to Cricket (I guess not if you rooted it), if you have a friend on AT&T with an Android phone, a good enough friend to let you borrow his SIM (if the same size) and after unrooting, plug in friend's SIM (now you're on AT&T) and check for an update. Get Marshmallow installed, then put your Cricket SIM back in your updated G3. Never tried it myself, but it might work.

The battery on mine inflated and died. Got a 2nd one. inflated and died in 6 months. Original cable btw.
Dug out my Z1 to use 2months ago for emergency and I'm still using it now because the same 3000mAh battery lasts twice as long compared to the G3.

But maybe I got a faulty phone.

@uopjo6: I bought a second battery and it died immediately. So, we can't conclude much from this, I think. I was able to fix it though: see here.

I have 3 LG G3 Verizon phones and using Tracfone as the carrier. One updated to Marshmallow - 2 will not update. Have you been able to update your phone?

So what made you guys buy the phone?

What price did you get it for?

Awesome camera and display, SD slot and replaceable (meaning larger aftermarket) battery
"Free" !! from VZW about 14 months ago. My son got one too. 3 phones and 2 LG 4G tablets cost $240 a month with 10 gigs
That's about the best I figured we could do.

I forgot to mention on VZW we have MM now
We still show up in specs for the latest G5:
The LG G5 Review

You can't get a big battery like we can
I still love mine

I still love my G3... Even thought is not the latest one but who cares... It has awesome specifications and still rock solid here.

I love my G3 so much! I waited for it to drop in price and then snagged it; and I honestly can't see myself upgrading to something else anytime soon. It suits my needs and it's quite obvious why it was Phone of the Year a few years back. Still relevant, and I love the back buttons. *LOVE* them. I cannot emphasize that enough lool.

I had to revert back to my G3 while my Moto X Pure was out for repair.

My G3 was a good phone in its time but it was a step back from my Moto in every way.

My MXP was returned on Friday and I'm beyond happy to have it back!

@936tlippy, I don't think it matters what type you've got. It's the same PC Suite. You can try to fill in another phone model too (like LG G3 D855)
