Do you think tablets will kill smartphones?

Tablets are not bad but still cannot no what a netbook can do. The higher end tablets go for around $400 and you can get a good netbook for that price. And a tablet is nice but you cannot put it down to watch something. Then you have to lean over and bend your neck for that. Netbook can do that while your sitting and not hurting your neck.

Whatever happened to the glasses with virtual monitors we are all supposed to be using? I never even got to try one.
I was just thinking of a funny April 1st gag for Android. You could announce a new version of Google Goggles, but for hardware it would be a phone dock with glasses frames such that it puts the phone square in front of your face like a pair of goggles :D And the camera relays images or something.

My question to you is...what is a smart phone? It's more or less a small tablet PC anymore...Running an OS, web browser, some flash support (Except iOS I've heard? Don't know if that is true or not.) I mean to me...they really aren't that different...My DEVOUR is a small tablet with a keyboard that can make calls....a 7 or 10 inch tablet is a giant smart phone that stays at home...So really...I don't think one will cancel the other...

A tablet app will (eventually on Android) have the multi pane views, which make it more capable of complex work. On the phone you can do a multi pane layout but then it obviously limits the content size. I haven't seen the API yet, but hopefully it will allow for a single app to support both phone and tablet (adding extra panes).
