Do You Turn Off Your Phone Regularly?

Raddichio and I have the same phone, a V551. I use mine if there's a chance it'll get damaged or "found". Paying $30 to replace it would be a ripoff.

As far as the OP, I have something going on in Tasker at the moment that messes up my screen off time (normally 30 seconds), so when it doesn't turn off I reboot. If it may drop below 40% battery during the night, but it's too high to charge when I go to sleep, I turn it off. Otherwise, it just sits thare. (Oh, and I reboot to switch ROMs when I need to run a different one.)

Charging? Qi, and the battery doesn't get hot enough to shorten its life, so when it drops to near 40% it goes on the charging plate, even if I'm not going to be able to take it off for 12 hours. Treated the V551 batteries the same way, and I'm still using the ones I took out of the package in late 2004.

(If we're trying to outdo each other with old phones, I still have a couple of MicroTACs - vintage 1989. One still has a working - but too working - battery. But it's an unfair fight - I was a dealer.)

I'm a firm believer that turning off your phone occassionally will extend it's life. Like any electronic device phones produce heat so why not shut it off and let it cool down? If you upgrade your phone regularly then dont worry about it, but if you spend like $700 on say a Note 4 and want it to last then I definitely would.

Yesterday I had missed calls. Reboot fixed it. Then today I had rapid battery drain. Reboot again. Now I am going to reboot my phone every night. Why can't Google fix this common bugs no they rather waste there time pushing ads.

Pushing ads makes them a lot of $

I don't turn my phone off but some month before when i had blackberry, i need to turn it off approx 10 times in a day cause of network lost again and again. And i think, everyone do same thing who use BB curve.

My phone must be on in order to charge but it's a 3 year old Nokia Lumia. Also, it's Alarm will not wake up or power on the phone, I must leave it charging all night to use it as a morning alarm. I assume all the current Android models are more sophisticated than this one.

I don't turn mine off but do reboot quite often to prevent missed calls and sudden battery drain.

I think Lollipop (or at least the Nexus 6) has taken a step backward, so is not more sophisticated. From what I have read, as soon as you start charging the N6 it will turn the phone on. That's probably fine for most people, but some of us (who have land lines and separate alarms) like to have out phones off at night.

No but I do restart it every day or si
