Do You Turn Off Your Phone Regularly?

Perfect, Thank you very much! I found it and set it up. I didn't own the Note 3. Went from Note 2 (not sure if that had it) to the Note 4. Love learning new features of my phone!
I remember you and now see you in the Note 4 forums. I haven't bought one yet.

It was actually this OP's thread and we talked about built in obsolescence with JBG.
Funny the things we remember.

It's sure lonely in the Note 3 forum, so I come here to annoy people.

Well sounds like what I did....skipped a model (unless you do end up getting a Note 4? I had skipped the 3 (even though I know it was fabulous, and I was so jealous!) as I was still so happy with my 2, and it is still in perfect condition (back up phone now) I am glad I got the 4 now as there are a LOTof differences and don't like to stay to many models behind.

LOL on the lonely N3 forum! That's how I felt in the N2 forum when the 3 came out! Thanks again and hope you have a great day!

I don't turn off either. Just do the occasional reboot every few weeks. No issues. After over six months with current phone battery life is great.

Wait, you can turn phones off? :-!

I'll reboot if things aren't working correctly or it's just laggy, but I leave it on at night while charging. I believe current phones' batteries and the OS work well enough to not be a problem; if there were widespread problems, everyone would know about it.

This.

By the way, reading that some people charge over night. I do not recommend this, it's not healthy for your mobile. :p

I keep hearing debate about that. Well, since I have removable batteries that are neglibly cheap to replace I don't spend any time thinking about it.

Lucky you! I cannot do that, so I rather not risk it. I heard that by charging it whenever it's not needed (100%), it will heat up your battery which may be bad for it.
If I am using it while charging then yes it heats up so I don't do that anymore. However when plugged in overnight the device stays cool so it just trickle charges then I unplug it in the morning.

No smart phone that I know of (I think there was a Blackberry one that did, but can't remember which one) can activate an alarm when turned off, only when in Standby mode.

That's a feature they should introduce (optional, of course). Seems like something a lot of people would want.

I agree, but for something like this to work on a smart phone it'd require 'external' hardware that would always be awake, thus having a constant battery drain. From manufacturer's point of view, it's equivalent to having your phone on StandBy mode, so they avoid the cost of extra hardware and the little bit of extra engineering to make it work.

I usually turn it off every other night while charging. I doubt that it helps much, but I just feel like it helps performance or something. Like, it stays "cleaner" somehow.
