Do you use the stock text app.

I do and works flawless for getting all my emails and reading them in my Samsung Gear watch along w my stock text app.

I actually find the stock SMS good enough, except for the limit of 20 recipients for group texting. For that I have GO SMS Pro installed.

Bah have to do it everytime though. :(.

No, you can set text size with volume button and it stays how you set it.

THE BEAST,,NOTE 3. SIZE IS EVERYTHING!!!

I use GO SMS, love the popups on the screen. And the new delay to text feature in case I send a text, and decide to cancel.

My volume button does nothing with text size. Only the pinch zoom.

You have to go into settings in the text app and enable your buttons to do this

I use the stock app on the Note 3, S3, and S4. Prefer it over any of the others I have tried. I personally like the look and feel of the stock app.

Love GO SMS though it doesn't work so well with the Gear so I'm suffering (lol) with the plain stock app.

i am using stock sms app, since it works well for what i need. i used to use handscent on previous devices until it made them crash a lot. so i will stick with stock for now until i find a better replacement. i hve tried many others too, but do not like how they look, work, or how they crash every now and then. the stock sms app works to do what it needs to do.

I use Chomp, except that it doesn't work well with group texts. Is Textra good with group texts?

I can't remember the app my co-worker recommended but it drained the battery, this was last year and can't remember which phone I was using.

Honestly, I can't be bothered. I have no problems with the stock.

Wha? :what: You don't know the app or the phone it was on?
Sorry but I almost choked on my sandwich reading that! LOL!

I could use some advice on an SMS app that works well with group texts. I need to text messages to a group of 25 students at a time rather than input them individually. Is there one where I can assign them to a group then send a text to that entire group?

I DO NOT! definitely prefer the Sliding Messaging app. It's the best thing since sliced bread! Give it a try, you'll love it.

I've been using Facebook messenger app since it came out and I learned it could be set as the main sms/mms app. The chat heads are the main reason I use it. I've not been able to find anything I like nearly as well as the chat heads.

What's a "chat head"?
(sorry if that's a stupid question, but I don't use FB)

Go SMS can definitely do that (group texting your students)

A small round icon (about the size of a pencil eraser) with your contacts photo in it that pops up on top of any app you happen to be using when you receive a text message from them. It can be moved around on the screen very easily and if you tap it, it will open a text window. Makes multi-tasking very easy. It also will stack multiple conversation, which makes it very easy to keep up with more than one conversation.

An app called floating notification will do exactly that. It also has an extension so you can reply directly from the chat head. Awesome app, makes any messenger that much better, including stock.
