Does anyone else have problems with the Speedtest.net app?

When I try to run Speedtest, no matter whether I am on wifi or on 3g, it comes up with a "Network communication issues" error while it is looking for the closest server. I uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail.

Anyone else?

Its a wide spread issue right now, I been having problems as well and it is very annoying. Also, read the reviews for the app on the market and you can see a hell of a lot of similar complaints.

Bookmark Speakeasy.net and your troubles are over. :D

I haven't had any problems with Speedtest but we use Speakeasy at work when testing in development at work. I've got it bookmarked now. :)

I was researching the Nexus S 4G when it came out and its "signal issues", someone posted an email from the dev of the Speedtest app that stated the app doesn't work properly on phones made after November of last year. Another person posted a Youtube of side by side between Speedtest and Speakeasy on the NS4G and Speedtest app showed about half the DL speed of Speakeasy consistently. I've noticed some bizarrely high upload speeds with the Speedtest app myself so I use Speakeasy. :D

Turn the animation down ask the way. I have a 30 mb connection. speed test only ever said 14 mb. I turn the animation down just playing with it, now speed test shows 22 ~ 25. Which is closer to what I get on my PC, 30mb. I can show a 6 mb connection by turning the animation all the way up.

How crappy is that? How many people complain to sprint based off of the speed test results when turning down the animations shows improvements in 3g, 4g, and wifi

I am using Ookla Speedtest on both my Android device and my iMac. On BOTH machines I run Nord VPN and Norton Antivirus. Both on on wifi. When I run Speedtest on the Mac I get 110 mb/sec. On the Android device it gets 10 mb/sec and it's closer to the router. Even when I turn the Nord OFF on the Android it still gives a reading of 10 mb/sec. WHAT is up with Speedtest on Android? I can get no help from the Ookla site.....
