Does anyone know what this sound is?

Attached rar-file is a recording of my phone playing the sound.
This sound is driving me crazy! It ceeps playing about 10 seconds (on and off) when I tilt my phone (90 degrees from lying til standing position).
Last week i upgraded my phone. That did not help either. I have disabled sound on several apps without any result on killing this sound. The sound disappears when I put my phone in silent mode.

Welcome to Android Central! It might help to record a video of the phone when the sound occurs and upload it to YouTube, then share the link with us. Accessing rar files isn't always convenient for our users on this forum.

Offhand, I'd wonder about the NFC tone. Is your NFC turned on, and is there anything with an NFC chip near the phone (like a credit card)?

Woah, that's weird! I personally never used NFC, so I'm not sure what sound that would make but does it still make that sound after a restart or after clearing the cache in recovery mode?

Thank you very much! It was the NFC service that caused the sound. I have a creditcard in my mobile cover with an NFC chip in it. Once i disabled the NFC sevice the sound was gone.
But this made me thinking about a security issue. What could be read out of my creditcards/accesscards if they are being stored in my mobile cover? And who can get access to that data through my mobile phone?
But again thank you for solving my problem!

Great! I've never heard that tone before for NFC--it must be specific to Samsung.

I've never heard of any kind of hack that could allow a thief to access your credit cards that way, but it is an intriguing (and scary) question. I generally try to keep credit cards away from my phone anyway, since I've been told there is a chance that the card's magnetic strip could be demagnetized--not sure if this is a myth, or if it pertains to older phones.

Glad it work! I tried to answer back at 8:30-ish a.m. but had a lot going on. I tried to cross search hack, NFC, and Samsung phones, and I found something but not exactly related to this situation. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but be on the lookout for any unusually credit card payments, even though I highly doubt someone would have your credit card information
