Does Droidwall remove the risk of most bad apps?

I realize a ton of apps are asking for permissions they don't need probably to spy on you. However, if I have root and Droidwall installed, does that prevent the risk? Even if XYZ app wants calendar and contacts, since it can't communicate that information out have I neutered the bad app allowing myself to enjoy its benefits without the risks?
