does iris scanning make you feel funny?!

I'm finding the fingerprint scanner really good so use this nearly all the time. But I like the idea of having a second unlock method say for if I'm wearing gloves or my hands are wet etc. The iris has been working well but it makes me feel weird, almost woozy if that make sense?! Anyone else? I feel that maybe I can't use it for this reason as to be want to be doing any damage

Well, I am sure that I look weird when I use the iris scanner, because it only works when I force my eyelids open enough to fully see my eyes. My wife finds it funny when I look bug eyed doing this.

No weird feeling with iris scanner. Prefer it to fingerprint sensor but both work.

Set it up again from scratch in optimal lighting conditions, the better image recorded originally the better it works day 2 day, I nearly just have to glance at mine sideways

It took forever for me to set up my iris scanner.

During setup, it kept prompting me to open my eyes wider. I must have drooping eyelids, not easily allowing a full scan of my full irises.

BTW, I can't see how it can see your irises if you are glancing sideways. It would be looking at the whites of your eyes more than the irises.

Iris scanner for the win man. Nothing better than iris scanning followed by payment. That's some James bond material right there.

No. I use fingerprints mostly. I use it sometimes when I pay for themes in the theme store and stuff like that.

interesting to hear the replies. I have no idea why it but it definitely makes me feel strange, even a single use that works almost straight away still gives me a strange feeling. I wear contact lenses, I don't know if that has anything to do with it?!

Same for me, need to force my eyes wide

My question is if you turn off or never set up the iris scanner will the sensor still turn on or not?

I stopped using it and headaches stopped. Got the idea of a connection from threads regarding iPhone X actually, which seems to be more pronounced issue. Especially if given to migraines or related problems.

Are you saying people are experiencing more issues with face ID? So you tuned it off and it stays off?

I get migraine headaches from time to time. I use the Iris Scanner every day. It's my main way of unlocking my phone. For the past 2 months of having my Note 8 I have not gotten any headaches! I don't feel weird or funny during or after using my iris scanner. I also do not hold the phone up to my face. I have the phone a good 15 to 24 inches or so away from me when I scan my eyes.

I personally love using it for Samsung pay. It's faster than fingerprint for me. No complaints on my end.

I wouldn't worry about wet hands...it's water proof...resistant.

I don't think I would be worried about damaging the phone with wet hands. The fingerprint scanner doesn't work with wet hands. Having the Iris scanner is really nice when your hands are wet.

it's definitely making me feel strange for a while afterwards. blinking my eyes a lot, slight headache and nausea. I've gone to using facial recognition and fingerprint.
